Rating: Summary: Burning issues . . . Review: I have had the same problems with the burning limitations. You have to purchase a seperate license to do unlimited burns. I believe you must buy the ulimate edition to have this included. I edit alot of sound bytes from movies anf TV to add to my tracks and this softaware is very good at making alot of powerful editing easy. It is also great for taking annoying dialogue or blank air from the beginnings and ends of songs. I haven't tried more then 3 or 4 other programs, but I find this the easieast and most powerful for my needs.
Rating: Summary: Easy, user friendly, great features. Review: Despite the negative reviews on this item, and comparing features between this and Roxio EZ Cd Creator, I chose to purchase this one.Installation went well. Update downloads went well. And it recognized both my cdrw and my dvd burner. My dvd nurner worried me because it is a foreign brand not available in the states. But Nero recognized it as such. Brand name and all. Anyway, I've used virtually all of the features in it. And everything has worked fine so far. I even tried an uninstall and reinstall just to see what some people were complaining about with the installation problems. I had no problems. Do I recommend this over Roxio? No. I haven't tried the newest version yet. But I do recomend this program. Mainly for t he features it provides and the easy to use wizard and interface. The help tips are great too. I usually turn these off, but these have actually helped me along. Buy it, enjoy it, happy burning.
Rating: Summary: The switch Review: I've always gone back and forth between Easy Cd creator and Nero, but I've definitely made the switch for real this time. Roxio to me is the more professional/advanced CD/DVD burning program.
Rating: Summary: BUGS IN and BUGS GETTING OUT Review: Not only did I have many of the same problems as already described, but had problems UNINSTALLING this junk. Manual(a joke) says "insert nero6 CD into drive" then click on "next to continue uninstalling" After putting disk in drive to uninstall, it would only install. Had to use XP's "Add or remove Programs". Even that left alot of nero6 in system. Had to do search "nero", and drag to recycle bin. Last search nero6 is gone from my system? Besides many problems, much of advertised stuff is not there. Looking at positive and negative reviews here, there must be two different packages. You will be lucky to get the right one. Big waste of money.
Rating: Summary: Some Good, Bad, & Ugly Programs Review: It appears that many users of this suite have had good experiences and others not. I've had both. For some reason, InCD was a system-crasher for me. (FYI, I have Win 98SE.) It was so bad that I couldn't even reboot! After finally getting my system back up and the program "uninstalled" it still left traces that needed more much more time to fix. After checking the web and Nero's site (their special uninstaller didn't work right either), I get the strong impression I'm not alone w/ this problem. Actually the other programs in the suite that I've been able to screw up the courage to use have worked pretty well (altho DVD burning is slow). However, the many hours I had to spend erasing the badly flawed InCD program were more than enough to offset their benefit. These kind of experiences make me think the manufacturer s/b paying me for my time, instead of me paying for their buggy product! My advice, if you buy this, don't instal InCD unless you really think you're going to need it. Even then, if using Win 98SE, don't.
Rating: Summary: A Swiss Army Knife...but decent Review: Nero 6 has become a Swiss Army Knife collection of media applications. The basic burning module still works great. I found most of the other modules decent...but certainly not the best in their class. If you want everything, buy Sony SoundForge, Vegas Video or Ulead, PowerDVD etc. etc. seperately and expect about a $1,000+ bill. This has a remarkable number of features for the money. I have had no problem installing or running this software. Be sure to download the latest versions of everything. I remove a star because there must be room for improvement, since almost none of these applications are best or second best in class. They are mainly simply decent.
Rating: Summary: Amazon is true to their word Review: I ordered the nero 6 and I recieved the suite edition. This did not have the features I needed and I will have to buy the retail version. Amazon was great about it and gave no hassel about the return. It was quick and professional, I was very pleased with their respones. Neor 6 is alot easier to use then 5.5 and has ALOT more features. You can download a demo to make sure it is what you want, but I would recomened it to any one.
Rating: Summary: Less bang for your buck Review: I am new to video editing. I am trying several different programs to find the best for my needs. The program Nero Ultra Edition 6.0 comes up on the bottom of list. I thought at first the user interface would be a great addition, but I could not get all the programs to run, especially Nero Vision. The program would not open because of the following error message: " This program must have Directx 9.0 to run application." I brought up the diagnostics tool "Info tool" and looking at software tab I discovered I had the DirectX 9.0 installed. I have wasted $79.00 and a weeks wroth of time time trying to get this to work, and tech support was a joke and cost $ 1.29 per minute. I will stick with Microsoft Movie maker, and ULead Video Studio 7.0 "which I must say has not let me down once!"
Rating: Summary: Nero 6 Ultra... Powerful tool yest so easy to use! Review: Finally found a product that delivers what it promises. I started with DVD X Copy Express to find out it was disappointing to use to backup episodic DVDs. I called customer support (which took more than 30 mins of ongoing recording before i got a live person on the other line) and was advised to perhaps go DVD X Copy Platinum. I took the plunge...shelled out more $$ ($129) and went through 6 agonizing hours trying to backup my episodic DVDs which all failed!!! Frustated, I called the customer support (which again took 25 mins of waiting)only to find out that they have problems with backing up episodic DVDs. Another interesting info I found out is that they do NOT support HD Burn "Browse for file Button" on the 1st step of the Advance Mode is NOT CLICKABLE! This was confirmed by the CS rep..they were having some legal issues that still needs to be resolved before this feature can be activated. If you plan to backup your episodic collection, Nero is so far the best tool for your money. There are compression tools (freewares) out there that works seemlessly with Nero 6 Ultra. So far, Amazon has the lowest price and has free shipping for this item. What I went through with DVD X COPY was horrid! Dont make the same mistakes i made. Good luck!!! Nero
Rating: Summary: NERO6 A maze of Confusion Review: Was going to buy Easy Creator. Had a geek say Easy had too many bugs. Went with Nero6 Ultra Edition, Retail Version. Have near new system, XP and far exceeds Nero requirements. Have 15 years computer experience. Nero loaded fine almost. Booklet (manual?) has 26 pages of actual instructions to (try?) and explain 8 utilities. Called live support twice (at 1.29 per minute, but no cost if no live help I hope?) waited 25 to 35 minutes only to be told "party you need is not here". Emailed (tech support?), 3 to 8 day reply time. Reply: "read manual before contacting (support?". Already read booklet 10+ times before email. Web site sends you from blank page to blank page. Finally got some info from AHEAD. No help. Booklet(manual?), online support, and screen displays don't correspond. Format and Erase work maybe 25% of time. Without any real instructions or support, did figure out how to BURN DVD slideshows. But at BURN get "drive locked up NERO ROM" message. First burn I waited 20 minutes. Have to guess how long to burn disc, before canceling out. Much of time get "no disc in drive" message. Many times after loading 50 pictures get, "you have exceeded 99 picture limit". In middle of program for slideshow for 50 pictures, Nero makes anywhere from 2 to 9 copies of picture files in Hard Drive folder? 1. Can only use 1 "time set" for all pictures. 2. Header and Footer puts text in mddle of picture. 3. On DVD player burned DVD will not pause as movies or music do? Any help on 1 or 2? Can live with 3. Bad reviews here from competitors? Good reviews here set up from Nero? Don't think so either way. Think there are several Nero6 Versions, and it is a crap shoot which you get. ...THANKS AMAZON FOR THIS FORMAT
