Rating: Summary: does this software use layers and masks like photoshop? Review: Can anyone tell me if this software implements the use of layers and masks like its photoshop parent or is it much simpler like photo essentials?
Rating: Summary: A 'PHOTOSHOP' WITH STRONG ATTRIBUTES Review: Ideal and easy to use, the "Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0" is a superb photo-editing software that remains at your service day and night. With it, you will discover that it is possible to capture and manipulate digital photos in ways you never anticipated. The capabilities of this 'Photoshop' will amaze you if your hobbies include: creating and editing of Web-bound images (including animations). Compatible with Mac OS X; and with all the Microsoft Windows (from 98 to XP), the interface is user-friendly. It parades several features which ensure that even photo-editing novices are not left behind.
Rating: Summary: FINALLY intuitive photo editing software Review: After searching for YEARS for a good photo editing software program, I finally found this one and am quite happy. I've tried them all, including Ulead (not intuitive), Photoshop (way too complicated). This software does A LOT, and it's truly intuitive to figure out how to do things like crop, save optimized for web, and change colorization. I love the automatic fix feature- it suggests the best fix for 4 different common photo attributes and you can preview before accepting. ... it is a great deal. This is the lite photo-editing software that other developers should strive to match.
Rating: Summary: Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 Review: This new version of Elements is more intuitive than the previous version and simply a joy to use. I have not yet mastered layers and other techiniques but am using this program far more often than version 1.0. The Quick Fix options are great and the text that accompanies with each option is simple to understand. The Undo feature is a really good way to experiment with the different controls and if you don't like what you have done-just undo it. Although probably not the use that Adobe intended it is a wonderful learning tool. I have used many Image Editing software packages and recommend this one to all of my friends. The only bad thing about the program is that once you use it for awhile you will be tempted to try Photoshop 7.
Rating: Summary: Try the Free Demo First! Review: After using many different programs....PictureIt, PhotoExpress, Photo Print Gold, and even Photo Soap...I love Elements! I've used the...version of Photoshop at my work and this has everything I need for working with my digital photos at a fraction of the price. If you are a professional photographer or graphic artist or something, you'll need the real thing, but for anyone just taking home photos and wanting to clean-up and print photos, this is an amazingly powerful program. However, if you aren't sure, try it first! You can go to the Adobe web site and download a trial version that allows you to test out all the features and see how it works. (Be warned, it is a hefty download...over 100 MB for the PC version and 180 for the Mac version!) But I love that Adobe allows you to test-drive the product before you use it. It shows me that they have faith that their product is one of the best. And I agree! In the end, this one has all of the features I want/need in a photo editing program and it is worth the price. The only other suggestion I would give is that if you plan to work with digital photos, you should take a short class on how to use the program. I used Photoshop LE for a couple years and didn't realize all of the features in there that could have really helped me! I got Elements and took a class for just a couple of hours and the difference in my photos is amazing!

Rating: Summary: Advice from a professional photographer Review: I am a professional photographer who works with the [pro] version of Photoshop every day. I recommend "Elements" to my friends who want to do serious photo manipulation but don't need the "pro" version. This program does most of everything you need. It's not the easiest program in the world to use, but it's a serious tool to do serious work.
Rating: Summary: Not Worth The Money Review: I owned this product for a week or two and feel like I was taken to the cleaners. Hard to understand, difficult to work with pictures and takes forever to boot up. I've done alot of digital photo work and can say that I have never used such a lousy piece of software. I am not a Microsoft groupie, but their PictureIt software definitely puts this to shame.
Rating: Summary: WOW! Review: I was looking all over ebay and everywhere for a [inexpensive] copy of photoshop and was unable to find one. Then I read about this and ordered it! It does EVERYTHING that I have always used photoshop for AND it has a bunch of *really* helpful interfaces. Very, very wonderful! Like 90% of the features for 15% of the cost!
Rating: Summary: not for novices Review: I thought this would be the best photo program around. And it very well may be. But I can not even figure out how to get rid of the red eye. It is by no means easy to navigate, for a novice anyway. Maybe it is my comupter but the program is slow, to do anything. I hate this and would love to return but alas I opened the package. Oh well here I come ebay.....
