Rating: Summary: Great Intermediate Photo Editing Software Review: I have used a number of photo editing software. This is definately the best I used. This editing software is an intermediate photo editing software that is still easy to use for casual users....
Rating: Summary: Photo editor for those who prefer manual transmissions Review: ... Elements 2.0 has a lot of "idiot" controls as well. But if you use the advanced controls, it gives you great control of the color and level adjustment. Five minutes with the "Levels" control (setting white point, black point, and midrange), a little cropping, some adjustment to the hue and saturation, and you've made a lusterless photo into one that leaps off of the page. You can use dodge and burn tools, fuzz the background, and apply a wide variety of filters. ... This doesn't even discuss what I haven't learned yet: layers, opacity, painting, cutouts, and a bunch of other advanced features. It's great. The best things in Elements 2.0: 1. "Levels" control. This will make your photos sizzle. 2. Photomerge: create panoramas by stitching photos together. 3. "Liquify" filter: your children can have hours of fun distorting pictures of mom and dad. Worst things in Elements 2.0: 1. It takes some time to learn how to do the manual features. 2. You'll want to buy photoshop. And that costs a fortune.
Rating: Summary: You need it if you do any editing of photo's or image files Review: Adobe Photoshop Elements can be used for simple editing or major reconstruction of image files. There is a lot of things it can do so therefore it takes some time to learn its capabilities. Rebate from Adobe is for upgraders only so be aware of that. Some better scanners and printers come with elements so if your in the market for one of those items as well might check to see if you can get it free. Don't know if it will be right for you? Go to Adobe's web site and download the trial version first. They have on-line tutorials as well. You are allowed to install this product on two machines as long as they are both used by you and not another person. This is good software at a good price.
Rating: Summary: misleading rebate offer Review: Product is probably fine, however, a $30 manufacturer rebate offer applies only to those upgrading. The cloest Adobe or Amazon comes to acknowledging this is "rebate information on box", thus you have to purchase the product, receive it, then find out if you qualify. Amazon blatenly advertises $30 man. rebate as if there were no special conditions.
Rating: Summary: worth the upgrade Review: the quick fix feature alone on the new 2.0 version make it worth the price. with the rebate...it's a no brainer. it is much more organized than the prevous version, more intuitive to use, and the new filters are wonderful.
Rating: Summary: Good Software Bad Warranty Review: Even though Photoshop Elements 2.0 is good software I can only give it 2 stars due Adobe's lack of warranty and tech. support they give this product. The customer only gets 1 tech support phone call issue; there after you will be charged $25 per new issue. The same applies for E-Mail issues. BUYER BEWARE! Adobe can be reached @ 1-800-833-6687.
Rating: Summary: Another positive review Review: The Best. I have used 5 different Image editors that most people get with cameras and scanners. None compare. Fill Flash can save a picture that the others can't help. Worth the learning curve. Recent Amazon prices after rebates make Elements hard to resist. The training CD currently available for free is well done (it only covers a few subjects). Those that can just try every feature and learn that way will not be let down. Hint books are helpful with combining features to accomplish specific goals. Adobe has some good free tutorials online.
Rating: Summary: An excellent Digital Photography Tool Review: This product is not for the beginner. Some experience is required or the patience to learn through studing the manual which comes with the program. It has met my needs by giving me the tools required to fine tune my out of focus photos. By use of the selection tool and layering, my photos are of a much higher quality than I have found with other programs, and I have used many. Don't get discouraged, once mastered the rewards will be worth it! For those who are not ready for Photoshop 7.0 but would like to try a program with the elements of it, this is it.
Rating: Summary: Best photoediting value but not a great advance from 1,.0 Review: I upgraded to Photoshop Elements 2.0 from 1.0 after it's release. Version 2.0 was slower on my computer (PIII 600 with 256 MB memory) than the original and seemed to demand more of the available memory. The quick editing features were particularly slow on my machine, making them more difficult to use than they were on the original. File management was also quite slow. I purchased Version 2.0 envisioning that new filters and effects would be offered, but really nothing substantive in that domain was added to the product. The end result was a product that runs more slowly than version 1 with no dramatic additions to the feature set. For new users who want powerful photoediting software at a very reasonable price, Photoshop Elements is the product of choice. For owners of Version 1.0, an upgrade to Version 2.0 has marginal value.
Rating: Summary: Perfect for the Digital Camera owner Review: I'm not a "power user" but since I got my digital camera, I've found it to be able to do everything I want. If I get stuck, I've found that the hints and "How To" recipes contained in Elements will often give me a solution to how I can get the effect I want. Elements comes with a host of one-stop tools that will create automated slide shows, and webpages. Another big bonus is Elements can convert many files automatically to the users desired format. I can even use Elements to capture digital video stills from DV video clips.
