Rating: Summary: Great Deal - Mixed Bag Review: With this package, you get three unrelated CD-ROM products geared toward older children (8+). The Hutchinson's Educational Encyclopedia is great for that purpose. It was designed to conform to the British educational system and includes short encyclopedia articles as well as numerous games, quizes, and multimedia to assist with learning. The reading level is much more basic than Encarta or Britannica and the layout is straight forward. This is a good buy for the Hutchinson's Educational Encyclopedia alone. The other two programs are less useful. The Webster's encyclopedia hails from Australia and it looks like a low quality shareware package. It is not even worth installing. There are much better programs available for free on the Internet. The history program comes with a large teacher guide book that tells how to integrate the program into a history curriculum. It looks like it could be a good program for someone willing to invest considerable time understanding how to use it properly.
