Summary: It's worth to buy.
Review: Do you believe it? I got a good grade on math. It is easy to use and it is easy to understand. Also I can pre-studing by myself at home.

Summary: Lacking information
Review: I am a sophmore college student who bought this software thinking it would give me a little help with home study. As soon as I started the program I couldn't find certain topics that were in my algebra book. The topics the software had were only summaries. This software should claim "along with pre-algebra, there is a brief introduction to algebra, pre-cal, calculus and trig." You would only know it was a short intro if you were or had already taken these classes. Otherwise you wouldn't know what you missing.
Don't be fooled. Know going into this you will not get much out of it.

Summary: Sounds good, but content is lacking
Review: I bought both Math and Science for my kids. As a masters educated professional I found Science to be extremely poor and Math only slightly beter. Don't even bother for college level courses. If you need help, talk to your teacher. He or she is in a much better position to point you toward resources that are best suited for you.

Summary: Best product ever!!
Review: I can't say enough about this program, but my 2 kids love it. I highly recommend other customers to buy this. I also had some problems installing it, and their technical support is great. I also purchased Math Advantage 2000, which is a little more advanced then others.

Summary: helpful but frustrating
Review: I couldn't find where it says edit review but I would like to state that at the time of this writting it says there are two out of four who found my last review helpful. I will add more comments after spending more time with the software but I felt I had to say at least a few things. First, one person stated that you cannot find out why you answered a question incorrectly. I can't believe he said that. You click on solution, that's how. Another person said that you need something else to be complete in math. Well, you have to use the random problem generator and quizzes and examinations if you want more practice (which are included in the software).

I also wanted to note that the software is very straight forward. You don't need to click a lot to find out just how to get started. I only glanced at the ScienceDeluxe software from Studyworks and found it took a while just to see what I wanted. And then the background was white which I don't like. And there was no voice.

Review: I love the graphics, animations, video, charts and the glossary complete with the symbols and formulas is very helpful. I saw only one problem and that is that the practice problems are too long and time consuming. A person who is made of less steel might drop out before they even get to Algebra. I am learning the concepts and am able to do most of the problems correctly but this is only because I use another math software program to compliment this one. If you can get math advantage at a good price by all means buy it.

Summary: So far so good.
Review: I needed something to help me review higher math, for I'm planning on pursuing a masters program. So far I am very pleased with this series of CD's. I find the simultaneous text with spoken voice to be very helpful to maintain concentration. The white text with black background was a welcome surprise, for it's very easy on the eyes. So far I like everything about it, and for less than 30 dollars you can't beat the price.

Summary: Best Math Software for students
Review: I purchased this along with High School Advantage 2002 and I think its great. I learned a lot of other math subjects I didn't learn in school and my teacher noticed how I participated more in class. Math Advantage covers more then what I learn at school and I think its an advantage for me. Great price especially when it comes with 9 CD's. Can't beat this anywhere. I tried other softwares and wasn't as good because of their teaching structure. 2 thumbs up for Math Advantage.

Summary: VERY POOR
Review: I Tutor at a boys school and have used most of Encore's Products.

Math is taught interactively so nothing but a complex program could do it... and they (there's 2 or 3) cost thousands and are for schools.

Where can you go?.... If you pretty much know what you are doing and need to drill there is value in the MOST RECENT edition of THE PRINCETON REVIEW's "MATH LIBRARY"

To get value out of it, however you need to religiously use the "teach step-by step" mode which is activated ny a button at the bottom of the problem... Then Princeton walks you through each step in the problem.

The present product,by Encore is nothing but a textbook screened on a PC... if you get a problem wrong they don't even tell you why.

Try Princeton or Boxer Math's new untried product.

Also CAUTION... Comptons Math are the same as Encore... (maybe that's where the name came from... "encore"?
