Rating: Summary: Not a grammar error Review: As a correction, I will briefly say that "diga" is the correct way to answer the telephone. In fact, "diga" is in the dictionary, but it is a conjugate of the word "decir," meaning to speak. Just like "does" may not appear in our dictionary because it comes from "do". Please do not hold this against the program, because they are correct. However, it may lack in explaining the pertinent information on why one word is used instead of another.

Rating: Summary: that is not a grammar error Review: As a rebuttle to the prior review, I have not ordered this program, but I would like to make a correction. Using "diga" to answer the phone is very common in most spanish speaking countries. This may be confusing, but many words are conjugations of other words, and "diga" comes for "Decir" meaning "speak." The program is not wrong, but it may not be effective in explaining all pertinent information.

Rating: Summary: berlitz employees write these reviews Review: berlitz employees write most of the gushing reviews posted on this site. Beware that there are much less expensive products, that there is nothing revolutionary about these products, and that you will find less expensive variants elsewhere. Be cost conscious and know that you will not learn a language from a cd rom
Rating: Summary: This way works to help people communicate in español Review: I found myself in a new work situation where I absolutely had to communicate in Spanish to my new employees, including everything from raises, hiring, firing, promotions, applications, and much more. Having virtually no success in previous Spanish courses, I bought this CD-ROM, and just stayed with it through all 50 lessons. Before I knew it, I was being told by my employees that my Spanish was excellent, a few said it was "perfect". The CD covers many basic settings, and is done in a fun, non-intimidating way. It helped me hear, speak, write and read Spanish. All I can say is the Berlitz method works, I give it my highest recommendation, and hope that anyone else who needs to learn Spanish (or any other language) will enjoy the success I had with this CD. While it may be true that we don't say "diga" when we answer the phone, as others have commented about this CD, I would not trade that shortcoming for any other Spanish method, because nothing I used was nearly as successful as this one.
Rating: Summary: Correction Review: I would just like to correct something in the review written by Margeret Berger... She said words that were hardly used in real life were used in this program, such as "diga" or answer the phone. Why not use "hola"? Because in about 90% of spanish speaking countries they *do* use the term "diga". It means "tell me" and is much more common than "Hello". It makes more sense too.
Rating: Summary: I am not a Berlitz employee Review: I would like to respond to the reviewer who wrote that the "gushing" reviews are all written by Berlitz employees. I am not, nor have I ever been, an employee of Berlitz, nor any company affiliated with Berlitz in any way. My full name is in my review, anyone who wishes may contact Berlitz and confirm that I have never worked for them in any location. I did try quite a number of other Spanish language systems, and this is the one that worked. Period. For the $15.00 or so I paid for CD, plus an hour of work every day for several months on the CD, the payoff was fantastic, far better than any other system I used. I am happy that others have success with other systems, I am only reporting my success with this one.
