Review: I started using this program after i learned a little bit of French. This is the best of 3 other ones i tried. It starts out with very small basic talk. Then it takes you into intermediate conversation at the end. maybe it's easier for me because it's my fifth language, but i just ordered two more copies because they make awesome gifts. The only reason i didn't give it V starts was because it only had 4 major conversation (long ones) I wish it had more.

Review: I wouldn't recommend this as a beginner's first resource for learning French though it is a nice tool to have once you've gained intermediate skills. It would make a nice supplementary piece but it is by no means a starting point for learning. I would read The Complete Idiot's Guide to Learning French as a first step, its very simple and complete. Also, I didn't see $49.95 worth of software in this package, fortunately I got mine on sale & acompanied by a mail-in rebate.

Summary: Just plain bad for beginners, bad format, and a bad buy!
Review: The format was terrible! You couldn't find anything you were looking for. The games were very difficult, and it does an awful job of giving you vocab words. It would be much better for an advanced french student brushing up on the language, but I would not recommend it!
