Summary: A+ German is a very good way to learn German
Review: I bought Learn German Now by the same company about a year ago and had a hard time learning German because the grammar was not presented in a systematic manner: one only learns about the grammar pertaining to the individual words of the sentences they are currently learning. This may be ok for someone who knows the language, but not for a beginner or for someone who wants to know the rules for crafting sentences, which A+ German does a good job teaching. With A+ German I am able to understand German better thanks to the grammatical, building-block approach it provides. Most of the essential grammar, which is vital in mastering a language, seems to be covered in the main program and in the "grammar basics" section. The vocabulary is extensive too and there is this handy flashcard program for mastering it. You can also hear individual words in addition to sentences and can slow the sound down. The games and tests also helped me know how well I was advancing. Finally, A+ would be a better program if it included a complete coverage of grammar -- basically a coverage of all the tenses instead if just the main ones and of some other advanced grammatical structures.
