Rating: Summary: You decide... Review: This applies to the GRE, but I looked at the other CDs and they are similar. My diagnostic, before studting: 1420. After studying: 1830 Actual GRE: 2000. The CD provides an individualized program of study for you based upon your diagnostic. The lessons are pretty good and provide some basic tips that will help you eliminate wrong answers and guess correctly if you don' t know the answer. There is also a very good vocab tool which allows you to go through the several hundred vocab words, selecting the ones you don't know to come back to later. After you've gone through them all you can review just those ones you selected.
Rating: Summary: Pretty helpful, but a little corny Review: This program wasn't too bad, but it did seem to take quite a while and I didn't find it very easy to pick out one thing I really wanted to work on. Also the guides are pretty boring and corny. I just wanted to dive into it and not deal with the "foo-foo" stuff. I was mainly looking for geometry help since I never have taken a geometry class in my life (including high school). I do think it improved my overall score in the verbal and analytical sections. As for the math, I would have done fine IF I hadn't gotten a ton of geometry questions. I think 75% of my math section was geometry. Murphy's Law I guess. My original scores when I first took the Kaplan test were V=490 A=650 M=400. My final scores from the actual GRE test were V=560 A=790 M=500 just for reference.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing and Inaccurate Review: This review applys to the GMAT software included in this software bundle. I was quite frustrated with this software. Yes, there are some good lessons and practice tests here, but I think your money might be better spent buying a book and using the FREE software provided by the GMAT organization. The navigation and sophistication of this tool were disappointing. Examples of this include the following points: 1) Navigation is extremely unintuative. Expect to spend a couple of hours learning how to use the software. This is especially frustrating because what could be an easy tool is made difficult by the unneeded flash of a confusing interface. 2) When you are taking a test there is no explanation of how long the test will take. Some are short, some mid length, others the are the same length as the GMAT test. The full length practice tests are obvious in their length but the others keep you guessing. 3) There is no way to print out lessons worthy of later review. You can review the test problems you miss, but you can't print them out for later review. 4) The software is slow. I understand some lag while the test software attempts to figure out the next question, but waiting between menus seems ludicrous. 5)Worst of all, the software was rating me at a level over 100 points less then what I actually ended up receiving on the GMAT. I took the PowerPrep sample test given out free by the GMAT organization (see their website) and it scored me within 10 points.
Rating: Summary: I felt totally prepared after using this software Review: Unbelievable amount of content. Very intuitive interface. Easy to install & run. This is a great resource at any price. The CAT simulations have been very helpful. My confidence level is higher than it has ever been before taking a test.
