Summary: I learned from Mavis in 1993
Review: The Best tutorial. Give yourself 60 day, 60 minutes a day and you'll be an expert.

Summary: Freezes Beginners Out
Review: This program is set to freeze the screen if the new typist is unable to pass the test for intermediate level. This has caused great frustration for our kids. The program needs to be rebooted each time. I only found the solution to this by going to the Broderbund website. Broberbund seems to think rebooting is a simple solution for beginners. I find this program difficult for left handed typist. It gives the intermediate test immediately after the lesson for the ,and. These are two difficult skills for left handers. It also freezes in other places and then does not restart where I left off. This is just a poorly written program.

Summary: Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing 12.0
Review: This was an outstandin program. It was great because its interacting with people from any age of 6-100. The games also make it a great way to learn and enjoy the act of typing at the same time.

Summary: Best typing program available
Review: We never had any of the problems (bugs) mentioned here. For people who don't own previous versions (this version may not be a huge improvement), this is the typing program to buy. It might not be worth the investment for people with earlier versions, but it is great for newcomers. It has impressive feedback and customization. The lessons adapt according to your skills, for example. When you type, you just want to keep improving simply because you are constantly getting your latest word per minute and kpm scores. There are a couple of things to get used to, but this adjustment (small) does not take away from the fact that this is a fantastic program.
