Rating: Summary: Best Kids Dinosaur Game Ever! Review: As a parent, I'm extremely pleased with the level of attention that the makers of this dinosaur fighting game put into minimizing violent content. Much to my delighted surprise, I found that when a dinosaur is "defeated" in battle, they do not "die" but instead walk away with their heads hung in despair. In a world of ultra violent video games, it's nice to finally see someone showing the next generation that fighting only ends in sadness.
Rating: Summary: Scanner Review: As much as my son and I enjoyed the graphics and game play the scanner idea was flawed. Scanning Barcodes are not nessary with the scanner. We found that running the scanner accross the computer screen was just as helpfull has trying to scan barcodes. The game is good if you have the time to mess with the scanner and getting the "codes" into it.
Rating: Summary: One major flaw! Review: Everything about this game is great except for the one major flaw that made me give this a rating of one star. I have bought this game for my two sons. The oldest used it first and played through it and had a great time with it (of course I needed to get a very good graphics card to make the dinosaurs look good). My other son was excited about it and started a new game for himself. Here is where the disappointment came. Most of the bar codes that we tried to scan kept saying "already scanned" and would not accept them. I looked everywhere for instructions to reset the scanner but could not find any. I finally got in touch with tech support and they said there was no way to reset the scanner. I could not believe it! Now it is hard to find bar codes around the house that was not scanned for the first game. It gets so frustrating that my son quit trying. I felt soooo bad for him but I was not going to buy another Scan Command to line the company's pockets. Was this planned? It would be perfect if you could reset the scanner. The tech support guy I talked to said it is a downfall of the product! This is such a bad flaw that it ruins the product!
Rating: Summary: This game is absolutely amazing!!! Review: For all my computer gaming years, I've been looking for a game just like this one! For any kids looking to buy a game like this, take it from me: GET THIS GAME NOW. The graphics are great, the battles aren't all bloody, which I enjoy, and the plot is really cool. Basically, you are a dino agent, and you're on a mission to Isla Sorna to save some kids who accidently stumble upon it. But then, you discover a British scientist, Dr. Corts, is using different DNA to create a team of super-dinosaurs in her plot to take over the world. Using a scanner that scans barcodes, you pump up a team of dinos that includes Spino, Trex, Anky, Tricera, Raptor, and Stego. Like I said before, this game is fabulous. Buy it!!!
Rating: Summary: One major flaw hoax: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! Review: I bought Jurassic Park Scan Command, and I am having a blast with it. Just a few minutes ago, I read a review for this game that said there was a major flaw in the game, because you couldn't reset the scanner and be able to scan barcodes that was scanned before. WRONG! There is a way. If the reviewer would have taken the time to read the instructions carefully, if not at all, they would know that there is a reset button on the back of the scanner. It is made for reseting the scanner after it has frozen, but if you press it (you have to use a pencil point to press it), it will reset the barcode history, and you can scan barcodes again and again. This is why you READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!
Rating: Summary: Wow, surprisingly good Review: I didn't expect much when I bought this game, I thought it's just another game that tried to cash in from the Jurassic Park brand new. I have played many Jurassic Park games before for the other game systems, but none of them came close to this one in terms of gameplay and creativity. Scanning bar-code is a very neat idea, it's fun for me even though I'm not a kid anymore. My younger cousin has tried it too, and he's hooked with this game now, it's actually a very fun game to play. You should give this game a try even if you're not a dinosaur fan, the game concept is so creative that I'm surprised to it.
Rating: Summary: Scan Fan Review: I just got this game and I can't stop playing. The scanner looks like a cell phone (kinda cool). I take it with me everywhere and scan stuff. Some barcodes have super powers so it's like a scavenger hunt to find the best ones. The dinosaur battles are pretty intense. I hope all my friends get the game because you can trade powers from one scanner to another.
Rating: Summary: Disillusioned Review: I recently purchased Scan Command and found it to be quite confusing to both play and download. The instructions are limited at best and don't go into detail. I was frustrated at how difficult it is to "prepare" the scanner, just to get ready to play the game, which I never got to do.
Rating: Summary: Scan Command Review: I think Scan Command is great! Scan Command is greater than I thought it was. I thought That I was suppose to scan bar codes for dinosaurs but now I know that I`m suppose to scan bar codes for DNA. Scan Command is one of my favorite Jurassic Park games.
Rating: Summary: Hope It's Not Like "DNA Factor" For GBA Review: I truly hope that it's not like the new Gameboy Advance game called JP3:DNA Factor. From what I hear they didn't take there time making that game, so it's not really that good.
