Summary: Enjoyable update to a wonderful classic
Review: Prince of Persia 3D is a great update of Prince of Persia. It offers state-of-the-art graphics, wonderfully atmospheric music, and extensive gameplay, while maintaining the flavour of the original. The way the prince moves is a delight. There's loads of flexibility in difficulty levels, making it playable by inexperienced as well as experienced gamers, and you can adjust the gore level as well. As one who suffers from dizziness when playing close-up 3D games (such as the Doom-style shooters), I was delighted to find that the 3D perspective in Prince is not so close up, making it very comfortable to play. My one complaint is that the game load times are very long. Despite that, it's well worth buying.

Summary: Prince of Persia 3D
Review: Prince of Persia 3D is a third person game with a very long and hard single player gameplay. It is a platform jumper and the third sequal to the side scrolling pop games. Set in the 12th century persia the plot is the usual, villan captures princess, prince is in jail, prince escapes from the jail, fights baddies, get's through deadly obstacles, kills the villan and rescuses the princess. Only this time all the action is in third person 3D. Pop3D lives upto the other pop games in level design. The level design is very good and the puzzles are very well done. All of the levels are very long from prisons, castles, docks, snowy mountains, castle in the air and floating ruins, The levels are very hard and very fun to get through. You have to get through deadly spikes, run through a door before it shuts, grab a rope in mid air ect. Third person prespective is a good choice for the game but the view is very badly done. It is hard to control the prince. You have to do a lot of tedious jumping but it is very hard to do so because of the way the prince moves, he moves as if he is walking on a slippary floor. The combat is the most problem in the game, because after the prince draws his weapon he cannot move and it is hard to fight gaurds. The review at game center said that if the player keeps on hitting the Q,W,E key which is the default left, right, center attack keys the other person can be defeated easily, armed with the sword weapon it worked well and was very helpfull in fighting the gaurds.

Prince of Persia 3D is built on an ugly engine. The graphics are very bad graphics, charecter animation is very ugly, box-of-rocks enemy AI and many clipping problems. I dont mind if the graphics are bad if the gameplay is great and the gameplay here is great and fun, but the game runs very unsmooth, the framerates are bad. The load times are also very long, but thankfully the quick loading is almost instant as you will die a lot of times. Pop3D was a very fun game, I loved playing through all the levels and solving puzzles. I did not face any crashes or hangs too, I did face save game errors but the patch fixed it. The biggest and only problem with the game is the unsmooth built engine. Alas! if only the created a better engine or used an established quake3 or unreal engine.

Summary: good intentions, but they did not live to the game
Review: The promise for this game was awesome. However, even with a very good PC specifically loaded with hardware for games, the Prince of Persia 3D was an unfulfilled promise. That is, the flaws make the game not worth it. I guess the engine game is the one to blame. Interestingly that, designed in 1999, and it could not live to Quake III. The price is extremely hard to control, it does not respond to commands immediately, the camera moves wildly and very difficult to see in enclosed traps, etc. The end, with timed 150 seconds for battling the bad guy is definitely not enough unless you are a master. You work against the controlling of the prince as well as the bad guy. More work could be done to the betterment of this game, but I think the company has discontinued.

Summary: Good, but...
Review: The third game in the Prince of Persia series suceeded as a worthy sequel in some aspects, but not in others. The 3-D gameplay over-all is quite good. There are a few flaws, like sometimes he'll slow down while my computer was reading the CD-ROM, but it was worth my money.

Despite the good graphice through most of the gameplay the movies were just horrible! The graphics on the first movie (I didn't really care for the first movie) we REAL good, but when it came to the middle movies the characters had square fingers and hands, and deformed faces. The last movis was the best graphic wise, but it was WAY too dramatic! The script-writing was pathetic! It sounded like they wrote the script in the 12th century!

Despite these dissapointments and the two or three major bugs (which the patch fixes), the game was quite good. The sword-fighting was by FAR the BEST sword-fighting I've seen in ANY game. Many people refer to the coltrols and "awkward", really they just take time to get used to. It took me 5-10 minuetes. They aren't much more awkward than the proclaimed Tomb Raider. And the level design is superior to any game I've seen except the first Prince of Persia game.

This game is a must buy for all Prince of Persia fans. For those who have never played the original Prince of Persia and it's sequel, I would suggest you buy the Prince of Persia Collection first. Not that anything would be taken away if you didn't, but it makes it a little more enjoyable as a sequel. If you don't want to spend extra money for the other two, then order it anyway (even if you do miss out on the other two). Thumbs up to Jordan Mechner, Andrew Pederson, and the whold team who made Prince of Persia 3D possible! I can't wait for their next release in this classic series!

Summary: Ahead of it's time
Review: This game has been around for some time, but the PC graphic quality and gameplay stack up against anything new out there. Very simple to play, but extremely challenges as the game progresses, this will keep you occupied for quite some time. There are those who will complain that "It's not as good as" but if you want some inexpensive fun, this is a very good platform adventure game, that is better in many ways than a lot of it's rival titles

Summary: Great Game!
Review: This is a very good game. It's set in the ancient Persian Empire. I recommend it to teens, mainly.
