Rating: Summary: Great math practice Review: My son was struggling with his multiplication tables until we found this product. The straightforward drills provided by Math Facts helped him master the skills. He has now moved on to multiplication and long division (a program that shows step by step how to do this complicated task).
Rating: Summary: Remember DOS? Review: This software reminds me a lot of early DOS software -- nuttin' fancy. For that alone, I give it only 3 stars. While the text is helpful and the drills get down to business, the lack of a more updated interface makes it more difficult to use for a child who is used to a GUI. Also, software which gives little beeps as a "reward" for doing well is not a great hit.Can this software achieve the goal of practicing basic mathematical skills? Yes. There is text to read which explains each concept, but it isn't interactive. It is like having a textbook page. So, either the kid "gets it" by reading it or they don't. I guess this software is just too old-fashioned to really make me happy with it. My daughter is 8 and is considered "gifted" and she is normally highly motivated but the old-fashioned interface just didn't appeal to her.
