Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: A bit challenging for my 6 year old, but together we had a great time solving this game. Highly recommend this CD-ROM!
Rating: Summary: Challenging to figure out Review: Bought this for my daughters 7 birthday, very hard to figure out...No good directions with software either.....Gets very discouraging, especially with your daughter sitting beside you wanting to play and you just cant get this game to work, very slow going......
Rating: Summary: Great game - my 5 year old loves it! Review: I haven't written a review before, but since my 5 year old loves this, I felt compelled. The game is hard to figure out at first and requires an adult's help initially, but she caught on quickly. As for needing to keep at it, you can save the game part way through, so it's really not an issue. This is one of the more intelligent games we've found. If your little one likes Freddy Fish, she/he will probably really like this one.
Rating: Summary: Great and yes a 5 year old can do it Review: I read some of the other reviews here after I ordered it and was a bit worried. But my 5 year old girl who is obsessed with horses was able to master the game and now she plays it repeatedly. Yes it probably does take 3+ hours to finsih, but she plays in 30 minute little bursts and exits. You get to return to the same place in the game. Its a game of exploring and there are several steps that you have to do in a specific order. Your only hints are what the characters within the game tell you. Actually we found it quite simple really if you are used to any sort of adventure and discovery games. By contrast the Gameboy Spirit game was 10x more complicated and very frustrating. When we got this she no longer cared. Now she plays this one over and over again even though she has already solved it. You can also have multiple ongoing games (one for each kid) at their own pace.
Rating: Summary: Great Game For us 10-Year-Olds!!!!!!!!!!! Review: it is,but when I am ABOUT to free a horse, like Fuego,Rain wants something, like a sugar cube, when im about to grab things for that minigame, its kinda confusin'
Rating: Summary: Fun game! Review: My 4 yr old daughter loves Spirit and anything to do with horses. We bought this game early 2003 and was very frustrated how hard it is to play for a young child. This game is for the 8+ range defenitly. I had to play it while my daughter watched and I finished the game and now she can roam around Spirit's homeland free. If you are looking for a game for the avid younger (toddler) horse lover, I suggest Barbie Horse Adventures. My daughter would rather play that than the Spirit game. It is a good game to play and it is quite fun....however, for a much older child.

Rating: Summary: My Girls Love It Review: My 6 and 4 yr old girls love this game and beg to play it every day. They got fed up asking me to teach them how to play it and spent the several hours required to learn it themselves. I admire their determination--I gave up after about 10 minutes. The documentation is poor and the play is not obvious. I think the game appeals to them for several reasons. 1) they love horses and the Spirit movie. 2) the game is not 'scary' (no monsters). 3) there is a lot of freedom to explore. 4) there is an emphasis on helping others. I had no installation issues on Windows XP.
Rating: Summary: Pretty good game Review: My 7 year old daughter loves the movie and was thrilled to see the game in the store. Setup of the game was easy and although she was new to adventure games of this type (pick up items, complete tasks, solve puzzles) she picked up on it very quickly. Graphics and sound are very well done, although the music can get annoying but it can be shut off. As mentioned before, Spirit needs to take care of Rain and in a short time, my daughter who felt sorry for Rain at the beginning was now saying "Oh geez, Rain needs more water, Rain needs more food...", but fortunately, this only lasts for the first quarter of the game. Once Rain is healed and feeling better she doesn't require any more help for the rest of the game. The goal of the game is to rescue fellow horses in the herd and the game can be completed in about 6-8 hours of play time. Sadly, there is nothing more to the game, no other adventures or variations if the game is replayed. Overall the game is well designed and fun to play, but could use a little more.
Rating: Summary: Difficulty installing and slow to run but fun for kids Review: My girls aged 9 and 6 enjoy this game but it was VERY hard to install - we had to try 3 computers before it really worked right. There also seems to be almost no way to skip the intro which is time consuming. But the graphics are nice and the girls enjoy it - first part though of getting Spirit out of the corral is tough for little hands to figure out on the mouse. Once Spirit is out though, they find it easier.
