Rating: Summary: Zoombinis Logical Journey Review: I have been playing this game for about six years, and am still not tired of it! The puzzles are extremely fun and addicting, but logic is very cleverly squeezed in. Although the math comes without numbers, it still teaches kids a lot while they think that they're playing a game just for fun. There are twelve levels, each with four difficulty levels. Every three times a group of sixteen Zoombinis gets through a set of puzzles without losing any Zoombinis, the set of puzzles gets harder. Every time you complete a set of three puzzles perfectly for the first time, a building in Zoombiniville is dedicated to the group of Zoombinis. (THIS IS NOT A SPOILER, JUST A HELPFUL STRATEGY: Since you can't adjust your level of difficulty down, I'd suggest you take the journey one leg at a time, going back to get more Zoombinis after one leg is done. Doing this, you should take 31 groups of 16 Zoombinis through the first leg of the journey, losing one Zoombini during each time you go through the first leg. Then use the remaining ones (10 groups) to get the level high enough to receive all the reward buildings. For the second and third leg, decide which you like less, do that perfectly 10 times, getting 16 through each time, then use the remaining Zoombinis to go on your favorite path 20 times, losing one each time. Do the puzzles perfectly with the remaining Zoombinis, getting 16 through each time, then take the remaining few through. For the fourth leg, do the same thing as for the first. END OF EASIEST STRATEGY)The story is that the Bloats have taken over Zoombini Isle, and the Zoombinis have decided to move to Zoombiniville. The Zoombinis are small, blue creatures with many different features. There are five different kinds of hair, eyes, noses, and feet. At the beginning, you can choose your Zoombinis, by mixing together four features from the twenty available. In fact, this is what taught me exponents when I was young. There are four kinds of features with five kinds of each, so there are 625 conbinations. Saving this game is very easy, and you can save up to fifty games. This is the third edition of the game, though it is still practically the same as Version 2.0, Logical Journey of the Zoombinis Deluxe. It even says so on the CD. The newest features are a bit of a different soundtrack at Zoombini Isle, upgraded graphics (so you don't have to restart your computer before and after you play), and a new acitivity program, with lots of printable activities for different ages. This is one of the best kids' computer games in the world, so I'd suggest you get it for your child and yourself. If you liked this game, also try Mountain Rescue and Island Odyssey, the second and third Zoombinis games.
Rating: Summary: There are no ARITHMETIC problems in this software. Review: I bought this game based mostly on the great reviews here. My dissatisfaction with this software is my own fault for not paying more attention to the description of the game which says the software deals with the "basic fundamentals of mathematical thinking as organizing information, reasoning of evidence, finding and making patterns, and systematic testing of hypotheses." Look at that description again. No where does anything say this software is about adding, subtracting, multiplying or division problems. Even the title, LOGICAL Journey implies deductive reasoning. So please don't take my harsh review as being critical of the software itself. It's a good game for doing what it was designed to do which is to teach logical reasoning and deduction. However, if you are like me and looking for math PROBLEMS like add this number to this other number you won't find any of that here. Let me say it again in case it isn't clear yet. I could not find one single arithmetic problem in this whole game.

Rating: Summary: Zoombinis Rule! Review: I've played this game so many times! It is so much fun, even now! I love all of the obstacles (especially the bubbles)! It gets more challanging as you progress through the game and rescue more and more Zoombinis! I find myself calling them by their names throughout the game, and you get so attached to them that when they are lost, you feel like they were family, too! A great fun game that I recommend for ages 8 and up!
Rating: Summary: 5636547,643786289,5890,2 stars isn't even enough! Review: this game is so good! there should even be a real place called zoombiniland.
Rating: Summary: It's so good Review: I think it is so good because the adventures are fun and I learned a lot! This is the only game that my dad would let me play for hours without kicking me off his computer. I enjoy the game not just because of the cute looking Zoombinis but also how it forces me to focus and think, to observe and figure out the patterns. The most enjoyable psrt of the game is to make pizza for Arnold and Willa.
