Summary: LOVE IT!
Review: My son (2 yrs) really enjoys spending time with this software. He has used for about 2 months, and now knows 1-10 numbers and most of the letters. He almost has the shapes down and LOVES, let me repeat, LOVES the musical element in the waterfall. The scrap book is TOTALLY COOL. This is a DEFINATE great place to start kids on computers. We have the Disney Pooh for preschoolers and he prefers JumpStart hands down.

Summary: A Great Learning Game for Toddlers
Review: My two year old daughter has really enjoyed this software. She has learned quite a bit from it [alphabet and numbers especially] and enjoys all the different activities. I think it is a really cute game, although after playing a few times certain parts of it got a little "old" for me. I like "Reader Rabbit Toddler" a slight bit better, but I think this game is great too. It was definitely worth the money we spent on it.

Summary: What are you thinking?
Review: Ok.. I do not own this title. I am looking for something to buy for my 18 month old since he's bored with jumpstart baby. I have a major issue with most of these reviews --- MANY people say that a big problem with this software is that it requires the parents to be there and do it. DUH. These are toddlers - little kids! Of course a parent should be sitting right there helping out!!! My son loves moving the mouse around because I taught him how to do it, not some software. (white curser on black blackground did the trick, btw). I have no intention of plopping my baby down in front of the computer and walking away. It's just like watching the TV - a parent (or other adult) needs to be sitting right there explaining stuff and interacting with him. I don't understand how you can give a bad rating simply because it requires an adult to interact with the child. If there's something wrong or bad with the software, I want to hear it. But saying it's bad because it forces a parent to spend time with the kid is not a good reason for a bad rating!

Summary: Great fun! Works with Windows 2000 Pro.
Review: Our 28-month-old started smiling as soon as the first screen came up. Although he's a bit small to maneuver the mouse, he was perfectly happy to let Daddy do it. By the way, I had no trouble installing and running this program under Windows 2000 Professional, unlike some other software titles.

Summary: Disappointing after JumpStart Baby
Review: Our son loves JumpStart Baby, with Teddy, and the ease of "press any key" to make things work. JS Toddlers often doesn't give you a clue if it wants a key to be pressed or the mouse to be clicked - at least Teddy would politely remind you of what to do, whereas the duck will just stand there and tap its foot impatiently, which I just find annoying. A little verbal prompting would go a long way! Graphics and sound weren't as smooth as JS Baby, either - it's very jumpy, skips, etc.

Summary: Teaches Mouse Skills
Review: Regardless of what other reviewers said this is THE ONLY SOFTWARE WE HAVE FOUND THAT TEACHES MOUSE SKILLS. We bought this software along with toddler verisons of Reader Rabbit, Winne the Pooh, and Sesame Street when our oldest child was about two. For over a year she was frustrated with not being able to make the games do what she wanted. Then one day we helped her 'find the animals under the leaves'. The game responds to mouse movement so clearly that in less than an hour she had it down. Now she can use the mouse to do what she wants in all her computer games with little assistance. Unfortunately, the kids stepped on and broke our Jump Start Toddler CD. We have been trying to teach mouse skills to our younger children using the other games we have, but the games just aren't cutting it. We'll be getting another copy of Jump Start Toddler soon.My advice is to buy it at 18 months. Play the 'find the animal' game once every 3 weeks. When your child is able to understand how the mouse works, they're ready to play more often and try the other games on this software. Then get the preschool versions of Jumpstart and/or Reader Rabbit ready for the day they get bored with the toddler games.

Summary: Diappointing
Review: This game is very disappointing. There is actually very little to do and see. It requires a parents help to point and click the mouse and has very little interaction. Other CD's capture my 21/2 year olds attention for 3x as long. It is rather expensive and keeps a young childs attention for only 10-15 minutes. I read several other reviews saying it would be better for older kids - but my 5 year old daughter complains the CD is boring with nothing to do. I suggest Reader Rabbit or Fisher Price Little People instead.

Summary: EXCELLENT learning for all learning styles
Review: This product is exceptional! My advice is purchase it! For those who cannot use the mouse they can hit the keys to learn shapes, colors, animals, counting...etc. There is a music section for those who respond well to music. It is soooo toddler safe. You can't make a mistake by hitting a wrong key! True, if you continue to hit keys it will go on to the next example. Use this to help teach your child to hit one key (the space bar for example) and count or observe the monitor before hitting the space bar again. Practice with the mouse is wonderful...again there is no wrong way or problem with using the mouse incorrectly...it is excellent at teaching mouse skills while learning letters, etc. It also has two levels so the kids can be more challenged when ready. My daughter LOVES the painting area where she can create her own work of art and print it if she wants to! Great for hand eye coordination and more learning of letters, shapes, colors, etc. Great product, I would HIGHLY recommend this, in fact I am purchasing it now for my brother's daughter as a Christmas gift. Happy shopping! Buy this one!

Summary: Somewhat disappointed
Review: We bought this for our 2 year old daughter for her birthday as she had been expressing interest in using the "puter". This program is easy to install and run however we are somewhat disappointed that it isn't easier for our daughter to use on her own. The feather that is used as the pointer is small and somewhat difficult to follow and it isn't always clear what the activites require you to do. Our daughter does ask quite often to play with this, however, she usually ends up watching mommy or daddy as we need to move the mouse for her to get from one activity to the next. Additionally, the sound often skips (especially in the ABCs) although I don't really think that our daughter notices. It does offer a great range of activities, but given that it is marketed to 18 months and up, we feel the navigation could be made a lot better.
