Summary: My daughter loves it!
Review: "Santa" brought this game to my 5 year old, and she absolutely loves it! She asks to play it over & over again. She loves decorating all the rooms in the castle, saving the Prince, and picking out a ball gown for Rapunzel. She even likes the song at the beginning of the game, and has it memorized. I recommend this game for any 4-8 year old girl.

Summary: a new era for Barbie games
Review: Finally a different kind of Barbie game... not based on the stereo-typical things for girls.
In this game, Barbie is a secret agent looking to catch a villain who is traveling the world gathering ingredients for the secret plot. Barbie travels to all these locations (Egypt, N.Y., Rio, Tokyo, Paris); she meets locals and gathers evidence on her way. Equipped with cool gadgets the user experiences a great deal of interactivity with both the surrounding and the characters.
Secret Agent Barbie ties James Bond, Charlie's Angels and Barbie together for an action packed game.

Summary: Not That Much Fun
Review: First off, I don't know what game the other reviews on this page are talking about, with the ice skating, Prince Stephan, castle, and maze references. The Barbie Beauty Boutique we bought had nothing like that.

My four daughters (ages 4, 6, 8, and almost 11) have been seeing this game advertised on TV, and all four of them wanted it so bad. I caved in and purchased the game for $30.00 at a store in town, even though we usually never spend that much on a PC game. We took it home, installed it, and all four girls played it, but really didn't like it much. It's just not that much fun. On the TV adds and on the box it sounds like there are a lot more outfits, jewelry, and hairstyles to choose from than there are in reality. The hairstyles especially disappointed us. You can either choose to style the hair in an "updo" or leave it down. We expected to be able to have choices like braids or pony tails, but there is nothing like that, the only hairstyle choices are "updo" styles. Most of the hairstyles looked fake and weird to me, my girls said they looked stupid. If you choose to leave the hair down you do get to decide how long the hair is, and whether to leave it strait or make it curly, but the curly hair looked as weird as the hairstyles. The accessory choices for the hair were mostly dorky looking, especially the butterflies and flowers. There were also not a lot of hair accessories to choose from, they just had a few things to choose from. I think the hair styling part is what my girls looked forward to the most so they were disappointed. I also have a problem with a lot of the clothing choices, a whole lot of midriff shirts and short skirts. The make up and nails part was alright, but nothing great.

The plus of the game is that it is easy for the kids to play so younger girls will be able to play with little to no help. (My 4 year old was fine with it, no problems at all.) However, the clothing choices and event choices are more geared to kids maybe 8 and up. My 4 and 6 year old girls didn't like as many of the clothing styles as the 8 and 10 year old did. If you are looking for a game that an older girl would like that is easy to play, this fits that bill. It would be a good game for girls who are older but haven't yet had much computer experience yet. (They learn quick though!)

All in all the game is not bad, but I do regret paying what we did for it. If I had it to do over again I would probably wait until the game was older and therefore not so expensive. If your kids want it, maybe you should see if they like the idea of the What's Her Face PC game instead. We have had that game for about a year, and it still gets played with. It's along the same lines as the Barbie Beauty Boutique, you get to choose hairstyles and clothing for your doll. There is a little more to it than the BBB, though, so I think it is more fun for the kids to play. With the What's Her Face game you get to choose your dolls face, which is fun, and then you get to choose dance moves and music for the ending scene. However, with some girls it's got to be Barbie, so that may make the BBB better in their eyes.

Summary: Great Game for Girls!
Review: Great game for girls! You prepare for one event after the other by going to different stores and buying cute clothes, gifts, accesories, and other items using money earned by different jobs that may include decorating a store window, designing way cool outfits, or mixing music! Provides hours of fun!

Summary: A Very Impressive Game
Review: I am 17 yrs. old and had put this game on my Christmas wishlist. I recieved the game on Christmas morning and have played it every day since. This game has some of the best graphics I have seen and is great for any young or old girl who is into fashion, music, and friends. You basically get to become one of the MyScene characters and help them get ready for many different events through fashion activities and money making jobs. I have been extremely satisfied with this game and recommend it to anyone between the ages of 8 and 100.

Summary: Hours of fun!
Review: I bought this for my 5 1/2 year old and she and her 4 year old sister play with it all the time. My younger daughter is also having trouble with the maze but she still loves everything else. This also has educational and problem solving games. Overall, if your little girl loves Barbie or princesses she will be fascinated by this game. I'm pretty impressed with the quality of it, too. Definitely worth the money!!

Summary: Horse Adventures review
Review: I bought this game for my 4.5 year old daughter. I picked it out because she loves animals and she already has the pet rescue game. She has had the game for over a week now and has played it almost everyday. I still have to play every game with her though because it is difficult for her to navigate the horse and barbie with the arrow keys. She has only just mastered the use of the sling shot and still has a hard time with sorting the food into the barrels. She can do all the other games just fine. I, myself, am tired of the game. There are only so many times I care to travel along the SAME route and talk to the SAME people to find the SAME horse in the SAME spot. BUT my daughter LOVES it! She likes knowing what is going to happen and where to go and is content in just wondering who the new suspect is. She loves the way she can "make" her own horse and change Barbie's clothes but could care less about decorating the winners circle. All in all not a waste of money. If you have the time to sit and play with your child it is worth it.

Summary: An enchanting, fun game for girls
Review: I bought this game for my daughters for Christmas in 2003 and they still play with it at least once a week now (dec. 2004). There are matching games, problem solving excercises and they have to find hidden objects. They love the music, the games - all of it. This is a great gift for any girl from age 3 - 8!

Summary: This is a GREAT game for girls!!!
Review: I bought this game last week for my daughters and they have played with it almost non-stop! The animals are very lifelike and cute. They love being able to give the puppies a bath, pick burrs off the bunnies, and brushing all of them. The games are challenging, but not too hard. They can pick which animal they want to play the games with. The only thing that my daughters haven't liked is that they haven't gotten to bandage or "doctor" a rescued pet. The supplies are in the check-up room, but they aren't allowed to get to them. This may actually be good, so they won't try "doctoring" their pets at home, but if that is the case they should have Barbie explain why they aren't allowed to get into that cabinet---or maybe they haven't found the right pet yet. Either way, this game is truly worth buying.

Summary: very entertaining and worth the money
Review: I bought this software for my 5-year old daughter for Christmas. She and her twin sister, along with their 4-year old sister, LOVE this game!!! They love everything about it, from the theme song at the beginning, to finding Prince Stefan in the maze at the end. I will admit, it's not super educational, but it does keep them entertained and it's nice to have a "fun" game once in awhile that doesn't require them to think too hard! It's also nice because they can leave the game midway, and return back to where they left off by clicking on their name. The names can also be deleted so that they can start a fresh game. They can restore the castle over and over again and have it be different every time. I think it was totally worth the money.
