Summary: Don't Bother
Review: I bought Myst Masterpiece because I was looking for something kinder, gentler and nonviolent. What a disappointment! The slide-show format is totally unacceptable given the power of the last three generations of computers. Navigation is irritating when the game sometimes turns 90 degrees, and sometimes 180 degrees per mouse click. 5 and 6 years ago games were capable of scrolling movement and smooth 360 degree rotation! Perhaps worst of all is the recurrent need to memorize and input sound patterns. The points where the sounds occur and where they need to be repeated are widely separated. I made it to the second "world" and I'm NOT going any further. I regret this purchase.

Summary: Great game
Review: This is a great game. It's not for everyone -- if you need nonstop action and violence, keep looking, because you're apt to find it frustrating and/or boring. But it's great if you like great graphics, intriguing storylines, challenging puzzles, and taking your time to explore a completely different world in an immersive gaming experience. Highly recommended, a classic.

Summary: Grows on you like a freshly bought Chia pet!!!
Review: Man, what a weird and interesting game. I recently bought my first computer, and this was one of the first games I purchased, due to word of mouth. I figured that, since eight years have passed since its creation and my purchase, that it would go in the "old school game" file...you know, the kind where they're fun and amusing, but you've played better.

At first, I was ready to throw this into the trash bin. After experiencing the frenetic joy of "Half-Life" and thinking that no game could get mellower than "The Sims", I was caught off guard by the mechanics of this game. I spent the first couple of days just wandering around the island, figuring out what in the name of Myst was going on. It got almost to the point of frustration.

Then, slowly but surely, everything started coming together. I sat up in my chair. My mouse clicks were with more confidence. I realized that high school diploma served a purpose after all. The logic of the puzzles was coming to me, and by the end of the game, I was zooming, realizing that my ACT score of 29 was finally deserved.

The aspect of "Myst" that boggles my mind is the complete lack of action. There are no deaths, there are no weapons, there is no score, there is no time limit. You have enemies, but they pose no threat to you during the game. There is no action. There IS, though, a high amount of book reading and star gazing. Sound boring? You bet it does.

Yet...there is suspense. Watching a fuzzy transmission makes my palm sweat. There's something about a barren, silent environment that creeps me out.

Overall, "Myst" features beautiful visuals, impressive gameplay, and an interesting storyline. While playing it, you may be saying, "So?" But then, you can't stop thinking about it whenever you leave it.

Summary: MYST Masterpiece Rules!
Review: MYST is my favorite! With great graphics and realistic sound, it puts you in the feet of an explorer, free to play around, solve puzzles, and decide what to do with Atus's sons. Not easy if you haven't done it before. For some people, players guides may be helpfull; however the virtual guide can do a lot for you if you just ask! The MYST series is a must for all gamers, and look for new MYST products as well!

Summary: a game of challenge
Review: When I first started on Myst, I loved the music, especially when I got to certain points. You must have an eye for detail or you will miss the important clues. At times, I felt as if I was really there. I really loved it when I found a blue or red page, that meant I was closer to solving the mysteries. At times I got frustrated, but that's all part of the fun. The best island I think was the one in the book hidden in the ship. I am really looking forward to Riven!!!

Summary: really Boring!!
Review: I could not stand the limited action and slow graphics of Myst. It reminds me of my brothers I.Q. You should learn from the real gamesb such as: Pac Man and my all time favorite pong. I hope you come out with a game that I can make a profit from in the near feture

Summary: Illogical
Review: This game is stupid. All of the puzzle answers are illogical. Most games are thinking but this game is just random guessing until you get it right. Also, half of the game is just walking around an island. Hardly any gameplay, just walking around. Just looking at the sights and occasionally doing a stupid puzzle. The whole thing is like a slide show that sometimes stops to let you solve puzzles made in 5 minutes. If you want to do something which requires thinking, play some good games like Gabriel Knight, The Longest Journey or Tex Murphy. Or get away from the radiation and read a book.

Summary: Great Game!
Review: Myst Masterpiece Edition was great. The graphics were great as well as the audio. It started out as very confusing at first because of the lack on information given in the beginning. But then that just adds to the fun of the game. I did have two complaints about the game however. The first was the odd (and sometimes confusing) slide-show style gameplay. If you were not familiar with your surroundings it was easy to get confused. Sometimes by clicking to the side you would turn 90 degrees and other times a full 180 degrees. My other complaint was the lack of difficult puzzles. After catching on to the main theme of the game I beat in a very short time, much shorter than I had expected. (About 4 1/2 hours total playing time.) However it was a great game to play and despite the short time I had fun while I was playing.

Summary: Wow, what a improvement.
Review: When myst came out a while back, I was totally amazed. This amazing and incredable game brought me to another time. It seemed like the future with these wonderfully eye-pleasing graphics and plesent sound. The puzzles contained in it were difficult but not impossible like some other games i've played, and they were not child-like either. Above all else, the game was fun. I thought "wow, what a game".

When Riven came out a few years later I thought "Yea" because another one of these excellent games would be out but then I was crushed. The puzzles were impossible, the graphics were terrible, and the sound was choppy and staticy. {and its not my computer, I have a good one.} I even got so frustrated I bought the hint guide hoping for an answer and to this day, i still can't beat the game. After that pitiful display, I lost all my faith in Myst.

I decided to try Myst again and to my dismay, it wouldn't work on my advanced computer. {At that time it was with WIN 98 and PIII 600}. I didn't know what I would do without Myst. Later on, I was walking around in a store and I found this Myst Maspterpiece edition. I check the requirements and it fit my system. I was amazed. I bought it, ran home, and installed it. I couldn't believe it. It was the same old myst I installed so long ago, but it was better. The walkaround graphics are just mind blowing. I couldn't believe it, but they took a perfect game, and made it better.

If you are a true Myst fanatic, you need this incredable improvement. If you are about to try Myst, this is the perfect way to bring you into it. Just don't buy Myst III, it sucks as much as riven, but the graphic requirements are so much steeper and the game has more bugs then the rainforest.

Summary: Not a game I'd spend HOURS on
Review: At first when I played the game it was fun, solving puzzles, walking around the island but otherwise overall the game was boring. this may seem funny but i only played the game for three days and my brothers are already sick of it! The Puzzles are basicly impossible and you can barely run it on a Pentium 90. I wouldnt get the game if i were you. Its a waste of money. Save it to buy something more important. "New Features" my foot. New things just to slow you down. And you cant even tell weather you've beaten a puzzle or not! DONT GET THIS GAME!
