Summary: Intriguing mystery
Review: The cover says it is for "ages 10 and Up". I would say it is more like ages 12 and up, unless you have a child who stays on the A+ Honor Roll.

There is more area and people to cover than the previous games. A positive note, it is ONE disc. That is GOOOOOD. I recall one of the Nancy Drew games having two discs and I had to a lot of switching ... OFTEN. A negative note, this is not a game you can stop playing a week and then get back into. There is a lot of note taking, impressions of personalities to remember, etc. After 5 or more days, you forget small (but vital) things.

Yes, I recommend it highly, but not for age 10. I also recommend, if the player is around age 12, to send in the card for the game secrets/manual.... Otherwise, your gamer may end up stuck in a spot or two and is UNABLE to continue on without some vital clue. The manual can be used to help over those rough spots.

One more thing, check the system requirements before purchasing. I have heard that some people are trying to play the game on a machine without the requirements listed. (Amazon lists these requirements near the price.) If you don't have the lowest requirements, forget it. It will freeze often.... (IT'S FREE). Then you can go to the chat board where you choose which of the games you are playing, all 6 are listed, and ask questions, leave tips, etc. It won't be long before your post is answered either! Seems as though many people are always there.

Summary: Nancy Drew Treasure in the Royal Tower
Review: My sons and their friends, also boys, had a great time with this game. It's too bad that it is marketed and designed for just girls, because it is a wonderful, challenging mystery game for all; even some adults get hooked, yes, men too. There is no reason why boys will not enjoy this mystery adventure! Maybe the Hardy Boys will come out with a version. Until then I'm going to buy more Nancy Drew software at the request of my sons.

Summary: Another great game!
Review: "Nancy Drew: Secret of the Scarlet Hand" is the 6th in this series by HER Interactive. Each game is full of clues, puzzles, and exciting (and possibly dangerous) adventures. "Scarlet Hand" is no exception. In this game, you (as Nancy) take an internship at the Beech Hill Museum, and when a priceless artifact goes missing, it's up to you to find out what's going on. You'll explore the museum (which includes a pyramid with several levels, and an outside exhibit), and take the subway to visit several other key locations. You'll talk to various people, all the while knowing that one of them could be the thief. It's a really fun game; I've played all the others and this one took longer than the previous game ("Final Scene") for me. It took about 10 hours on the senior level, and I was playing it with a partner. There are a lot of facts to write down and recall, and the puzzles in this game are very original. I was very pleased with the number of puzzles; just the right amount. What I really liked about this game, in comparison to some of the other Nancy Drew games, was that you didn't have to maneuver your mouse so much to find things. In some of the other games, you can only see objects if you position your cursor at just the right angle turning just the right direction. In this game, everything was very out in the open and the game was easy to maneuver; surprisingly, however, that didn't make the game any less challenging than its predecessors. Just another great addition to the "Nancy Drew" games collection, "Scarlet Hand" is sure to please gamers and mystery-lovers alike.

Summary: An Excellent Addition to the ND Computer Game Family
Review: This is BY FAR the best Nancy Drew Game Her Interactive has to offer! Besides having fun solving the mystery, you learn tons of cool things about ancient Mayan culture. The animation is great and the mystery is not easy to solve. There are many fun activities. This is definitely worth the money! A must have for all computer gamers and ND fans!

Summary: Keeps you on the edge of your seat!
Review: OMG!! I am fifteen and I was having so much fun! All my friends made fun of me for getting exited about a Nancy Drew game, but when I forced them to play it they totally agreed with me. Great family mystery solver, and will be challenging for the parents too! Bring your thinking caps, you'll need them!

Summary: The best of all!
Review: This was quite challenging but I think it was the most fun and
best out of six! The music was excellent and the graphics were
terrific. Oh, by the way, be prepared to be addicted...you won't
be able to stop playing.

Summary: Lots of Fun, Lots of Improvements
Review: If you are a Nancy Drew Fan, you will love Secret of the Scarlet Hand. The game has better developed characters than before, better voice acting and a good dose of Mayan history. I particularly enjoyed operating a HAM radio in the game and the character of Hendrik. I am giving it 4 stars because I got a little bogged down with the initial museum chores but that's a small complaint. Overall, I quite enjoyed the game!

Summary: Difficulty level
Review: I did not like this game as well as all the others. I think it is too difficult for the young teen as far as some of the puzzles go and I don't know if a lot of people would like the Mayan culture stuffed down their throats. The Graphics were greats--hints were better and parts were fun to play. I am looking forward to the next one but hope it is inbetween the earlier games and The Scarlett hand. Would I buy it for myself if I kneew probably but I know I won't give it to a youngster cause I feel it would turn them off of Nancy Drew.

Summary: Great, But...
Review: This game is great with the funny humor. You solve the mystery in a *darkened* movie theater. That's why I gave it two stars. It was WAY to dark. You pretty much can't see anything! But the rest was GREAT!!!
