NetWare HostPrint/400 1.0, a NetWare Loadable Module (NLM) that runs on a NetWare for SAA or intraNetWare for SAA server, enables users to send host print jobs to networked printers through server-based, IBM AS/400 host-compatible printer emulation sessions. HostPrint/400 routes host print jobs directly from the host to NetWare print queues, reducing network traffic and providing centralized administration and control. In contrast to 5250 emulators, NetWare HostPrint/400 provides efficient, centrally administered, server-based printing. NetWare HostPrint/400 also provides printing features such as multiple fonts and more than 132 characters per line for AS/400 environments. Unlike emulators using the AS/400 3270 Remote Attach feature that requires a link reserved for itself, NetWare HostPrint/400 can share the same link to the AS/400 for both display and printer emulation.
