Summary: The solution for adding a Windows system to a Mac network
Review: If you want to use a Windows system in an already functioning Macintosh network, this software is an extremely convenient tool. I've been a long time Mac only user at home, but recently bought a Sony vaio notebook with Windows 2000 Professional pre-installed. I tested this product and Thursby Software's TSSTalk. With PC MacLan, I could do everything I wanted to do, including to see and use all the Mac file structure that contains Japanese file names and to print directly to my Apple LaserWriter Pro 600, which only has local talk interface. With TSSTalk, double byte file names are garbled even though both the Mac 0S 9 English and the Win2k English are set to be Japanese capable. Also, with TSSTalk, the AppleTalk printers are not visible from the Win2k system, and thus not usable at all, and it still has some other small bugs in the Win2k version. All things considered, PC MacLan is head and shoulders above the competition.
