Review: Using this product means that it will be very hard, if not impossible, to share your documents, in a satisfactory way, with non-Office users. Think about it. It's bad.

Review: We just got a new computer and with it, we got this edition of Microsoft Office. We used to have Office 2000 and I have seen and used Office XP. This edition isn't a major upgrade from Office XP, but if you don't have Office XP, get this one instead. There are significant improvements in Outlook, but I don't use it that much. Powerpoint, Word, and Excel now have the research task pane which is very helpful. They are also more integrated with Office Online than XP is and it almost uses microsoft office online to get new clip art, media, and help. The interface feels a lot more user friendly and the task pane has improved slightly. If you qualify, you should definitely get the software, considering the price. This is a must get if you want to upgrade from Office 2000 or earlier and it is recommended, but not as important, to upgrade from Office XP. If you really need to spare the money and have Office XP, you might not need it, but it's a definite if you are upgrading from 2000 or earlier

Review: Well I'm Apple's fun. As one my of my favorite movie's characters says "if you want to say "it is crap say it is a disappointment instead". Ok Microsoft Office along with ANY other of Microsoft products are disappointment. It is bad. It is frustrating at every step.
I maintain the policy "NO MICROSOFT PRODUCTS ON MY COMPUTERS". I have nice quest life. I don't have any viruses and for text editing I use Nisus Express. It is the real tool, it helps, it makes my writing simpler and more creative. For "office" suite I have "apple works" and I'm happy with both of them.
To my vision if you need something really cool and technologically advanced run away of any of Microsoft products. Buy products from Microsoft it is like cooperate with mafia, it is not the option for me.

Review: When my "limited" version of this product expired on a computer I purchased in March '03, I decided I'd get full version of this product. I'm not an educator or a student, but my research seemed to indicate that wasn't a problem. Also, when I checked w/ Staples, Office Max and Best Buy, they said it was fine to use it even tho one would be "violating" the licensing agreement. (I hope the Microsoft police don't show up on my doorstep!) This version of Office is fine if you want something that's not fancy...and I don't. I just wanna use Word, Excel and Outlook and it does all, that and it's WAY cheaper than the "Standard" version. So, if you want it simple and don't mind violating the MS agreement, go for it. I paid $130 @ Staples.

Summary: Far too expensive, stick with OpenOffice
Review: While Microsoft Office may be ever-so-slightly easier to use, it remains much less functional than the free, open source, OpenOffice by the Sun Microsystems community. It also remains extremely overpriced, even the Student Teacher Edition.
