Summary: Cheap and dependable storage
Review: I have owned the Zip 100 for 2 years. The machine is easy to set-up and using the disks is very intuitive, as easy as 1.44MB disks. Lots of storage for cheap. Easy to use.

Summary: One of the Best
Review: I just rescently bought the Iomega Zip 100 Portable USB Drive, and I am VERY pleased with it! I bought one to back up my MP3 collection on zip disks, and, just to make "super disks". It only takes 5-10 seconds to put the average 4.5MB MP3 on a zip disk! It is totally easy, too; drag-&-drop method. The USB port just makes it easier to connect it to your computer. The requirements are low, so almost anyone with a computer can use one. When I bought this Zip Drive, 5 min. after I took it out of the box, it was connected! This is a great thing to have for anyone! Forget the A Drive, this totally beats it out!

Summary: Snazzy, quick, but...
Review: I LOVE the case, especially next to my grey laptop. Easy to set up, MUCH quicker than the parallel-port version, but watch the eject feature...my first try sent my Zip disk into the kitchen...! Also, if you are using other USB devices, the software warns that some, especially slow-speed mice, etc., may cause the drive to crash. Newer USB standards should smooth this out, but if you have an early USB computer, check this out. Also....Microsoft? What about USB for NT?

Summary: Great way to move files around
Review: I purchased the drive (USB ZIP 100) as a way to transport files home from work (sneakernet). Installation at work and home was a breeze, and did not affect other USB devices already in use. So far I have had no trouble, and highly recommend this as a cheap and easy solution for anyone who needs to keep data portable. Iomega needs to improve the eject mechanism...nearly launches the disk into the neighbors yard!

Summary: Terrific performance and a great price
Review: I was very happy with this drive. I bought it solely to transfer files from my iMac to my NT machine. It's design complements the iMac perfectly (and would add a splash of color to any PC). What impressed me most was the speed of this device. It is light years faster than any floppy drive, and approaches near-hard drive quality. I was able to quickly drag and drop large MP3 and Quicktime files, and get them over to my NT in seconds. Since iMac doesn't ship with any removable media, this purchase was a no-brainer -- especially considering the price.

Summary: Not to be used with other USB devices.
Review: I'm running windows 95 and I had no problem installing the drive. But when I plugged in my USB scanner my computer hung. Iomega's USB drivers are not compatable with other companies products when running under Windows 95. If you're using multiple USB devices with Windows 95 look else where.

Summary: EXCELLENT CHOICE
Review: IF YOU DON'T WANT PROBLEMS WITH YOUR OTHER DRIVES,PRINTERS ETC., THEN THIS IS THE UNIT YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE AT A GOOD PRICE.

Summary: Two Years Old and Going Strong
Review: Mine's been working flawlessly since I bought it in early 2000. I understand the newer models are bus-powered. If for some reason you can't have a power strip, that's a concern, but I do wish the AC adapter was smaller.

Gotta love the way it shoots non-Iomega zip disks half way across the room, too!

I recommend this drive for low-cost, low demand storage and backup. Now if only zips would come down in price...

Summary: Works fine.... all the time.
Review: Since I was out of internal bays and I still needed a Zip drive for my PC, I purchased the Portable USB model and it has worked just fine. No glitches in either the installation or operation. I don't quite get the translucent blue case (oh yeah, it works with the Mac, too) but other than that, no complaints. Now that is high praise, indeed, these days!

Summary: Should've bought this sooner
Review: Switching from a 100Mb Parallel Zip drive to this USB one has saved me countless minutes that I used to spend staring at the stupid little bars slowly indicating that my files were being transferred.

I'm amazed at how much faster, and less of a hassle to install, this one has been. The portability has also come in handy, as has the ease with which I can switch this from my desktop to my laptop and back again. Wish I'd bought it a long time ago.
