Summary: I used it grab digital pics from my friends
Review: It was quick to use with Windows XP, nothing to download! Quick and easy. When I visited my friends a few weeks ago, I saved digital pics.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: poorly built and fragi
Review: It is a toy made of cheap plastic and usb connector gets loose very easily and it stops working. It happened to me after one month use and I lost all my data on it.Do not buy it.If you want something like this ,buy one that is built sturdy like sony.you are not only wasting money but also risk llosing precious data.

Summary: AMAZING BUT TRUE
Review: Can't believe it ... accidentally dropped this into my washer ... picked it up after the regular cycle was done and it still works!

Now if only my cell phone, digital camera etc. is as durable ...

Summary: Good Product, No Rebate
Review: I gave this product a review of two stars because the drive itself is good, but Lexar doesn't seem to honor rebates (it looks like other people had similar results). I like the functionality of the hardware itself: it's fairly fast, portable, and reliable. However, one of the main reasons I bought it was because of a $$$ rebate. Unfortunately, Lexar claims I mailed in the paperwork too late. I know this is untrue because I'm meticulous about rebates: I carefully read the fine print and make photocopies of all the materials in case a problem should arise. However, there's no way to prove when I mailed in the rebate, so I'm pretty much out of luck. To prospective buyers: I would not expect to get a rebate check in the mail.

Summary: Great performance for a low price
Review: Even without the rebate this is probably one of the best prices for a drive of this type. I have used mine dozens of times to transfer files back and forth between office and home -- and never had a problem. The design is nice and it plays mp3 files directly without any problems.

Summary: Works even when washed (By Accident)
Review: I accidentally left this drive my pocket and it went through the washer and dryer. This is a great and solid device. I have received several compliments on how simple and versatile it is. If you need something to hold your files that are larger than a floppy, need it copied in a hurry, or to small to burn a CD for; this drive is for you.

Summary: useful
Review: I bought my 128MB drive and it works great... plug-and-play on Mac OS X at least... I do not have a Windows computer or a normal Mac OS 9 system to test it on. USB is plenty fast enough for the small sorts of files this thing will be holding. This will be very handy at college this Fall when I need to transfer software updates from the highspeed-connection lab computers to the computer in my dorm. Right now I am using it as a real 'key' -- it holds my Mac OS X Keychain file, which stores my website passwords in an encrypted format. When I went to check email or log in to a site, I plug in my drive.

-1 STAR: I had to reformat the drive to be able to rename it. The cap comes off a little easily and is not useful to clip it to anything except maybe a notebook... I keep it on my keychain.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Forget the floppy
Review: This is a great tool to carry any of your files with you, but the cap comes off relatively easy and thus easy to loose. However, if you carry it in a laptop case, otherwise take care of it, it works fine. If it wasn't for the not so secure cap, it would have been a five star rating.

Summary: Great little gizmo
Review: This little guy has been great. I've had no problems using it with Win2000 Server, Win2000 Pro, or Win XP - even when using a USB hub. It is convenient and well worth it's reasonable price.

Summary: My favorite gift to friends these days
Review: I initially bought this to transfer files from computer to computer, but I ended up storing many of my favorite mp3s, digital pictures, and some documents and carrying this little thing around to have at my disposal whenever I needed them.
I love this thing's size, a little shorter than a stick of gum and about the width of a pen. I was able to keep in my pocket without an unsightly bulge.
A closed loop at its end makes it easy to attach to a key-ring.
A light light's up when the computer is writing or reading to/from it. Just remember to not remove it from the USB port while this light is on, and your information and files are secure.
I'm not a "techy" but from personal use, it seems that that the read/write time is fast enough. When it was full of 120MB of mp3s (you can't store more than that for some reason), it took about 2 minutes to transfer back to my desktop.
Since this is a re-writable "drive" you don't have to buy more than a couple. I think that the ones smaller than 128MB will not be of muc benefit in the longrun. 128 is good, but 256 is the best, and the prices are dropping.
