Summary: Just Not Reliable
Review: Although I realize that USB cards do die, this one just doesn't last long enough. I have bought two of these, the first from Best Buy, the second from Amazon. The first lasted about 6 weeks before dying completely. The last one lasted only 3 weeks or so.

Owners I know using non-Lexar USB keys get at least 9-12 months before the key dies. Two months or less for this Lexar is unacceptable.

Look elsewhere for a USB key.

Summary: Loved it, but it failed after 6 months
Review: As another reviewer wrote, I have taken good care of it and only used it rarely... After 6 months all computers stopped recognizing it, but there is a warranty, so I'll see how I go...

Summary: If you plan on using this with the Lexar MP3 player
Review: For those of you trying to decide what USB sport to get with the Lexar MP3 player: according to the Lexar site the 256 MB can store 4 hours of music vs. the 512 which can hold 8 hours.

Summary: Excellent! But I wish I'd bought 512MB!
Review: I bought 2 of these flash drives because of its price (less than $60) and for its flexible rubber cap that wraps around the whole drive, so losing the cap is a near impossible. I am using it as a permanent part of my toolkit as a PC repair technician, wearing it around my neck. It is also small and thin: not much larger that Sandisk's USB drives.

Due to the size of files I transfer on a day to day basis, I think I have to buy Lexar's 512MB drive instead very soon.

Only one grouse with the drive: no lanyard in the package!! but it is THE best brand to buy in terms of design. Well done, Lexar!

Summary: just what I wanted
Review: I had been looking for an MP3 player that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg so I came across the Lexar MPC-231 JumpGear MP3 Digital Music Player for JumpDrive Sport and the Lexar Sport JDSP256-231 USB 2.0 256 MB USB Flash Drive. This would be the answer to my problems. I didn't want the expensive MP3 players that were in the hundreds of dollars. When I listen to music I like to vary my songs frequently. The 256MB capacity allowed me to down load the right amount of songs that I wanted to listen too during a certain time period, then I could get more songs and put them on and I wasn't stuck listening to the same songs over and over again. The only problem I have is that a lot of my songs are on I tunes and that format is not supported, but I will just have to live with that I guess.

Summary: I love it....it fits in nicely in a crowded hub
Review: I just bought mine today, and I wish I had 3 more! I had been satisfied with the Purple one and the Blue one, but their bulbous shapes make it difficult to use in a 4 or even 7 port USB hub....you have to jockey the others around in order to get space for those. Not with the Lexar Sport! It's slim shape allow it to fit right in. And I LOVE the fact that the lid is rubber, and fits around the drive sturdily. A chain or lanyard holds onto the lid, so you take the drive off and use, then replace. Why didnt they think of this before? I cant tell you how many of the other lids I have lost, misplaced, stepped on, leaving the USB ports naked. Thanks Lexar for designing this one!

Summary: Terrific!
Review: I love the design of this drive. It is slim, and has a rubber cover. You can hang it around your neck, or stick it in your pocket. Very rugged, and as far as I'm concerned, it has the best design of any of the drives I have used. I would not hesitate to recommend this drive, as it has worked flawlessly for me. No drivers to install, just plug it in. I am thinking about getting the 512 Sport now!

Summary: Excellent
Review: I really like this jump drive. I have been using it almost daily for more than 2 months now, and it works VERY quickly and very smoothly. Never a glitch, and it tranfers data really quickly, both when I use a Pentium IV with Windows XP, and when I use my laptop, which has a Pentium III 900. The drive does not work with my old Pentium II 350 that uses Windows 98, though, and I have not been able to find proper drivers to make it work, but I have not tried very hard...
The plastic cap is a very useful addition, and what surprised me very very positively is that after taking the jump drive in and out its cap for about 500 times or more, the cap is as in good shape as it was when I just purchased it. It really did not loosen a bit. I am very happy with this product, and the price is great!

Summary: Works great--simple, sturdy, and flexible
Review: I use this thing to carry files to and from work. It works flawlessly with no drivers needed on a PC running Windows XP and on a Mac G4 running OS9.2. I've also loaded it up with MP3 music to play on a portable jumpdrive MP3 player, which also works flawlessly. Unlike another review that I've read, this one works fine in the remote USB port on the Mac's keyboard, I don't have to plug it into the back of the G4. The slim design means it fits in easily beside other USB cables when the ports are spaced close together, as they always seem to be. File transfer is fast fast fast on a USB2 port. The rubber case is really sturdy--I've attached it to my keys so that I can dump it in my pocket and forget about it until I need it, and it's always right there. The "sport" concept is a really good idea--it's sturdy and rugged and can handle bouncing around with coins and keys as I go about my daily life. No special software needed, works on different platforms, rides in my pocket, tough enough that I can forget about it when I'm not using it--what more could you ask for? It's perfect.

Summary: It broke
Review: I was told how indestructible thumb drives are compared to floppies, so I decided to invest and buy a good one. I picked this one because of the price and I like the design. I thought this drive was awesome until one day all computers just stopped recognizing it. I had this thumb drive for less than a month when this happened, and was very carful to take care of it. The plastic casing on it broke, splitting into two sections. Now all my files are lost and I spent $40 bucks on something that was, in my opinion, poorly put together. I recommend going with another thumb drive, this one has a really poor design

Don't buy this product, its not worth it.
