Rating: Summary: Sweet little unit for my work... Review: I am a software consultant and often have to transfer files between different machines and locations. I'm extremely pleased with this unit. It configured itself automatically on my W2K Gateway laptop, and allowed for seamless copying and transferring of files between my two main work locations. At 256MB of storage, this pretty much covers nearly any software project I have, as well as allowing me to have a number of common utilities with me at all times. Highly recommended...
Rating: Summary: Mac Users will like this one best! Review: Unlike many USB flash memory devices, SANDISK devices allow user to NAME the disk whatever they want. This is consistent with Mac's ability to name each mounted disk to keep track easily. Although others (like Sony) work just fine with Mac's, you can not name the disk.
Rating: Summary: Great on XP, sheer poison on WIn 98 Review: I bought the Cruzer 256 MB mainly to help transfer data files between home and office and so far I have mixed feelings. The Cruzer is a sleek little unit, well designed except for the cheap and flimsy plastic caps.On the machine running Windows XP, I have had no problem at all. XP recognized the Cruzer in a flash (pun unintended!) and allowed me to drag and drop files smoothly. However, the second machine running Win 98 was another story. I had to first download a driver from the SanDisk website. Finding the driver and instructions were simple but when I tried to install the driver, it blew the Win 98 machine¡¦s settings to pieces. My files and data are safe but the modem is no longer recognized (which means no internet ƒ¼) and the monitor settings have been re-set to a 16 color VGA with no options!! Nothing I do can restore ¡V not even after 3 hours with Dell Tech Support and I now have to reinstall Windows. So my short-cut has ended up making more work for me! In sum, Cruzer is good if you are running XP (and maybe 2000). If you are on 98 (mine is an old machine) avoid Cruzer like poison.
Rating: Summary: Great product, I recommend it highly Review: Works great, right out of the box. If you are using an ancient operating system (Windows 98 or older), it may have some hickups, but if you are using 2000 or XP, it works flawlessly. I liked mine so much I gave it away and bought a second, and a third for family members. The only thing that I would change is to make it into a key-chain instead of having it on a necklace. For my own use, I clipped the necklace cord and shortened it to fit my keychain, which worked fine.
Rating: Summary: I love this product, the "Mini Cruiser" Review: Instead of hauling a laptop, now I just carry this little thing in my briefcase. It came with several different colored spare caps and a pretty cord to wear it around your neck. These are so small that you need to pay attention to where you put it. My work and home PC have USB 1.0 slots, but that is no problem for this device. It also has a little data lock switch that I don't usually use. I have been completely satisfied.
Rating: Summary: Cap falls off easily Review: This flash drive is excellent, like all flash drives I have tried. It is a wonderful alternative to floppy drives, and it allows me to move large files around easily. My complaint - I carry the drive around in my purse, and although the cap starts out snug fitting, after taking it off and putting it on a few dozen times, the cap now falls off easily. I also have a Sony MicroVault, and I sure paid a premium for it, but it is so well designed that there is no way the cap can fall off - it snaps snugly into place. Verdict - I won't buy another SanDisk drive until they redesign the casing.
Rating: Summary: Best Price performance, Excellent product Review: I used it for a couple of days. It is a great product.
Rating: Summary: coolest prodeuct among the same types in market Review: I got this product as a gift from my friend two weekes ago. Before this one, I always used a FUJI 256 MB one. obviously, this Cruzer Mini belongs to next generation, since it equipped with a USB 2.0 interface. For data transfering, it is much faster than my old USB 1.1 FUJI one. Also, the volume and weight of this cruzer mini is so small, thus it is really "MINI". So easy to carry!!! With windows XP home and professional in my home and office computers, the use of this is a breeze. I am a guy need to transfer data every day, so, this cruzer mini really gives me big convenience. The only cons: this product will be more convenient if it has a clap (as most of the flash drive in Market). But, do not be mislead by me - as an alternative, it is really equipped with a strap holder and comes with a nice neck strap. Excellent product, I will strongly recommend it to any one who needs transfer data a lot.
Rating: Summary: Worked fine for three days, then died. Review: This unit worked well for about three days, then ceased functioning on my Windows XP computer. My computer kept wanting to format it but could not do so. The fix described on SanDisk's WWW site did not work and the SanDisk technical folks finally advised me to return it. I did, and requested a refund, not another one.
Rating: Summary: Simply unreliable Review: This USB drives worked for me for no more than three hours: I wrote two files at my office (Mac OS 10.2.7) to this media. I could read and rewrite while in office. However, three hours later when I tried to work on these files on my home computer (Mac OS 9.2). Well, it was not working any more. I then came back to my office and tried it again. Guess what, error messages came up, including "low power", "not recognized by Mac OS X", and "some information may have lost". The unit was sent back to the retailer immediately.
