Fuji S2pro, Digitial SLR
Fujiflim Card Reader
G4

The 340 microdrive is a good storage system. I take medium-high quality pictures. I usually can fit 250-500 pictures depending on the variable quality settings. (9+ different settings) It's light, concealable and good. I do have a roblem with it.
1) It's SLOW. the speed the microdrive records at is pathetic. When i shoot 8 FPS, i sit there waiting for like 30-40 seconds for it to record all 8 shots. it's annoying. Other compact flash and SM don't take that long. Tranfering from the reader via firewire to the G4 is slow as well. The reader is fast with SM and other CF. the drive is pretty durable. i've dropped it, rattled it, ran with it and the camera, and it was fine. Age does kill drives though. I use the camera for yearbook and a drive from last year just broke. I wouln't read in the camera or reader. it was a sad day. The drive is expensive, slow, but can store a heck of alot. A Lexar 512 smartmedia is probably the better choice though. it's signifigcently faster.

Review: You can never have too much storage space in your digital camera, so this is a very attractive product. There is some latency over solid state storage devices (this is a mini hard disk), but the chances are that you won't notice it. You have to be a little more careful in handling it (don't throw it on the table), but in general you are probably already very careful in handling your digital camera and accessories. I am currently on my second digital camera, and I would never buy a standard film model again. Now with all this storage space, I can take it on a long trip and not have to worry about switching cards or downloading pictures to make space available for more.
