Rating: Summary: Excellent Addition Review: After a month of hunting storage for my laptop, i narrowed my choice, Maxtor or Lacie. I chose d2 for several reasons, * Less Noisy (external drives, drives you mad!) * Speed * Vertical * Transparent connectivity * It looks cool too! :-)I own an Inspiron 8100 and got this as external storage for my media files and back for large application, so far its going very stable and smooth. Five stars for Lacie.
Rating: Summary: excellent addition to laptop Review: I bought this hard drive simply because the hard drive included with my fujitsu laptop just couldn't keep up. laptop drives are slow in comparison to firewire drives. nice design and matches well with fujitsu celsius laptop.
Rating: Summary: Great External HDD for DV editors Review: I bought this product for my on-going video editing projects which eat up my hard disk spaces like hungry monsters. Well I had 80GB version of the same HDD over a year and it worked beautifully just not big enough for me. It does not have electric fan but it's all aluminium case works fine dealing with the heat. Although the HDD inside is not exceptionally quiet by today's standard, it is quieter than many external HDDs with electric fans. I recomand this drive for any DV editors.

Rating: Summary: Excellent Product Review: I recently bought this hardrive for my Sony laptop. Although setup was a little tricky at first (took me a while to figure out that the partition size must be less than 30GB for FAT32 file type), everything else worked out as, if not better, than expected. The drive is very quiet and well designed. As long as the drive doesn't crash in the future, I would have to say I'm very pleased with it so far.
Rating: Summary: Best toy for Video Review: Plug and play, fast and quiet. Aluminium Case and no Fan. What else can I ask for. It works with my Avid system and new MS media player when I had to send back a maxtor product.
Rating: Summary: A great addition for my Macintosh Review: The Lacie external hard drive works great with my Macintosh iBook right out of the box, with no installation or set-up necessary. It comes with all the needed power and FireWire cables, so I just had to plug it in, and my computer immediately had another 200 gigabytes of space. It runs quietly, its metal case does not get too warm, and saving files is as fast as on a built-in hard drive.
