Summary: Great Value!
Review: This is the best hard drive I've used for backup and video editing. It's quiet and looks different (very cool) than all of the other external devices and doesn't heat up. I highly recommend it.

Summary: It Works Great
Review: This item works great for me but, don't try to use this fast hard drive with out a fire wire hook-up, it will let you down. With firewire it is the fastest HD I have seen yet for a PC. If you are wondering whether to go for firewire or USB 2.0, definetly go for the firewire PCI card and see how fast it is. Don't use it for very long without a firewire hook-up it is very slow. In fact it is very poor without it, because it was meant for a fast connection.

Summary: installation a snap, but device is noisy
Review: What you should know: the space available is actually more like 104 GB. Installation was easy (under XP). You have to format the drive, which took me a bit more than an hour. Copying data is easy and fast but the drive makes a whining noise when on, regardless of whether data is written/read. Since it is hot-swappable, however, I just turn it off until I need it. It is good deal for a lot of extra hard drive space.
