Rating: Summary: Good compared to the alternative Review: I have had this external enclosure for about 2 weeks now.
Likes:
Rubber feet so it's nonslippery.
Looks nicely to display.
No problem installing, I put a IBM Deskstar inside.
so much cheaper than external hard drives.
Dislikes:
is the power cable really necessary? can it be powered by USB cable? I don't know the answer, but I sure wish it could, reduce the cable clot.
should be more sturdy inside, as of now, I feel it could easy break if I drop it even once.
I really recommend external enclosure whether you buy this one or not. With it, you can utilize an old HD maybe you would otherwise dispose, recycling is good. make sure you format the drive as FAT, you never know if you will connect it to, say, WinME, which does NOT recognize NTFS. For portability, make sure it's a commonly accepted format.
I found out that it was on sale from WhoSave coom, they list tech on sale from all over the web, they don't sell though.
