Review: I think this product is excellent in some ways:
1) You won't have problems using it with other USB devices, because it's very thin, so you won't need to unplug other connections from your PC or notebook to use it (even if you machine has USB stacked ports).
2) When you are using it, you can plug his cap behind it, this characteristic it's a very useful improve over other similar products. So it's very difficult to loose it.
3) Moreover, when you plug its cap behind it, you will increase light display when unit is in use (this light shows you when unit is working -ready/writing data-). For me, this looks great.
4) In spite of, if you loose its cap, this products comes with two additional caps. In fact, its 3 caps are different in colors (light gray, light blue and light green).
5) In addition, it comes with a neck lace if you want to use in that way (optional).
6) It has nice design, color, performance.
7) I had used it with W2000 and it works in an excellent way. No drivers required, only plug and play.
8) You can access and reproduce directly from it, music, video and other programs, so it isn't necessary to move data from USB Drive to PC to use it.
9) It has a very reasonable price.
10) It comes already formatted, but you can choose format it in another way (i.e. fat, fat32 or ntfs). This choose will depend of your native operating system.Because of that, I think this device works fine and it was what I was expecting of this kind of drive. I hope these suggestiong will help you to take a good decision about this product.

Summary: Linux, & mac compatability
Review: The Sandisk 256 MB flash drive works under Linux, and Mac out of the box.. In Mandrake Linux 10.0 official it is /mnt/removable, and it automatically mounts on the desktop in Mac OSX 1.3 (panther) as "untitled"

Summary: Fixed my problems
Review: This works fine now. I stuck it in before installing the win98 drivers, so I had to uninstall, take out drive then reinstall drivers (from sandisk.com) and reboot. PC still wouldnt see it. Finally figured out to go into System/Control Panel/Device Manager and click on the icon for this device and reinstall the driver. Once that happened everything worked. I have 256mb of mobile power. Awesome.

Summary: Not a reliable
Review: The device worked for two weeks and stop working in a sudden. I lost all the files saved on this disk. If I have to buy another one, I wouldn't buy SanDisk.

Summary: I love my SanDisk drive
Review: I got it as a present for Christmas '03 and I use it on an almost daily basis. I use it at work on a Win2K box, at school on Win2k, WinXP and Redhat Linux boxes and at home on Win2K3Server, WinXP Pro and Redhat Linux boxes and I've had flawless operations... except trying to mount it on my linux box, but I got that fig'd out pretty quick and that was my problem not a problem with the drive.
The only con about this drive is the size but I go to school with a guy who loved my 256MB Sandisk so much that he bought a SanDisk 512MB drive... and he hasn't had a single problem and he uses it just as much as I do.
Don't believe other reviews about this being a faulty product, I'm guessing it was user error that caused it by not properly removing/unmounting the drive. Great drive by a great company!

Summary: Good value thumb drive
Review: This thumb drive works as well as any other. Due to the storage manufacturer's misuse of the term 'megabyte' this device has an actual formatted capacity of 244 real megabytes (which is also true of all other "256M" flashdrive out there), so just be aware. Also, like any other flashdrive it is only good for about 100,000 erase cycles before it gives up the ghost so don't use it for files you'll be modifying frequently each day and so I wouldn't recommend editing directly off of the drive. Speed for this drive is average, it took a little more than a minute to fill up the entire 244MB. Pros:
- really small! (look at your thumb, but half as fat)
- faster than a usb 1.1 drive
- no drivers needed Cons:
- no keyring attachment
- not as fast as some other 2.0 drives
- not bootable (for me atleast...) Bottom line: Very cheap but works as well as most other drives out there. At this price point it makes sense to buy it to just have around, because you'll never know when you'll need it =)

Summary: 128 MB version
Review: I have the 128 MB version and overall I think it is really great. But I will mention two things to watch out for: 1. It is a little flimsy. If the body gets hit at all, it bends, so the USB part is kind of at an angle. It still works, at least for now, but I have learned to be very careful to not touch it while it is in the port, which takes a little effort because it just sticks out, as all of these things do. But I always back up on my hard drive whatever I have on it so that if it breaks off completely I still have the data somewhere. 2. I use it to swap data between two computers. One runs on Win 98 (Work has not upgraded) and one is Win XP home version. The Win XP home I have had no problems with. It just worked, as I guess these things do with xp. On 98 I had to download a driver, which was easy to do, and the drive works most of the time. But occasionally my computer won't recognize it. I just reboot and then everything is fine. Might just be my computer, but just a warning. But overall, I think it is a really great and indespensible piece of equipment. It is so tiny!

Review: I have used SanDisk products in the past, and all I can report from experience is that SanDisk flash memory is extremely unreliable. I had purchased a 128MB SanDisk compact flash card last year and it failed after 3 months. My father's also Cruzer Mini died just last month, but I attributed it to poor disconnection or handling of the drive. I received my cruzer as a present and it worked well for me, but little did I know that I would suffer the same fate. After pulling an all nighter to put the finishing touches on a my lab, the cruzer Mini reported an I/O error 3 hours before I had to turn it in. I immediately realized that the drive was done. I tested it on other machines only to get the device error. Drive properties showed the drive reported 0 bytes. Bad bad sign. I lost two weeks of hardwork as well as most of my percious lab data. This drive failed me when I needed it most. Avoid SanDisk at all costs, I should've learned the first time their products failed me. As always, no technology is completely reliable, so BACKUP at all costs.

Summary: Does what it says it does...
Review: Bought this device based on price. So far I have loved the convenience it has given me. Running XP Pro on on older Athlon Thunderbird system at home and had problems recognizing it on three of my five USB ports at home. All are 1.1 but three have problems... any suggestions?!?!?!? On the two 'good' ports, no problems whatsoever! FANTASTIC!!
