Apricorn 40GB PORTABLE HI-SPEED USB 2.0 ( EZ-BUS-40 )

Review: Contrary to another reviewer on this product, I am NOT a PhD in Computer Science (although a local customer is a University that does have some Computer Science Majors who are very satisfied with this product).

I had purchased the 80GB model (4200 RPM) and plugged it into my USB 1.0 (that's right, 1.0 not 2.0) and the one reviewer is somewhat correct. It is VERY "slow" to recognize the unit. It must've taken all of 15 seconds for my Notebook to recognize the Apricorn (remember, that's on USB 1.0)!

My IT/IS Management (CIO's, IT Managers, etc) customers love this little Apricorn, especially when I plug it in and show them the massive amount of organized files I have stored on this reliable, compact unit. I also show them that I have my home office (Win 2000 Pro - loaded up) OS on this Apricorn.

My only concern: maybe I'm selling the wrong product, because it seems as though everyone (management) that I show this to, ends up purchasing one!

Highly recommended by a very "demanding" businessman.

Summary: DoNOT buy this!! it does not work with my dell laptop.
Review: Gosh, what a hassle! I would not recommend this product to anyone! It does not work with my dell laptop and the tech support folks are not helpful at all, they couldn't figure out why it's not working with my laptop (which I bought 6 months ago) trust me, I am a ph.d student in computer science, and I couldn't get it to work.
