Rating: Summary: Buyers be aware Review: Do you have slight (or big) problems with your drive after few uses?. Download Sony's own drive check utility program from thier support site and see for yourself (they are strongly recomend not to use it until directed to do so by useles technical support), and read chek's log files shoving drive's internal problems (software missconfiguration.....). Proudly made in China, congratulation on your purchase. This is my second drive in least than two monts and is going back, this time for refund.
Rating: Summary: Excellent burner!! Review: I am using this writer for the past 6 months. I never found a single problem with this writer. I have written many home and backup dvds. The burn process was always successful. For writing 4.7gb with a 4x dvd-r or +r it will just take 12 minutes. For a cd-r or +r it will hardly take 2 minutes. Although it is a little pricey, I am totally satisfied with the accuracy. It is better to put some extra bucks on the writer than wasting time on scrapping your expensive blank dvds.
Rating: Summary: Great product... but VAIO owners: beware ! Review: I have a VAIO pc (PCV-RX480DS) and this burner is a must ! It work fine and is very easy to use. The only problem is that it doesn't fit with the VAIO faceplate. I had to cut and adjust my pc faceplate to fit the burner. Beside that, I highly recommend it !
Rating: Summary: Works wonderfully Review: I have been using the 530A for about 3 days now without a failure. I have yet to try any fast 8x media with it as all I had was the 2x dvd-r's. It has meet my expectations.
Rating: Summary: A Great Product Review: I just bought the Sony DRU530A to make backups and produce home video DVDs. The hardware installation was simple. I admit that I did not install the bundled software. I prefer Nero 6 Ultra Edition for everyday CD/DVD burning and the DRU530A works great with that software. Not a single problem. It just works! Buy this drive, you won't be sorry!
Rating: Summary: Bad News Review: I think that this drive created exactly 2 readable DVDs during its lifetime, only one of which was readable by any other player.
