Summary: Decent drive for the money
Review: A friend has one of these - I used it to burn about 10 CDs. PII 350 MHz, Win98SE, 128MB RAM. Worked like a charm, no coasters when data came from the SCSI Hard Drive or the SCSI DVD/CD ROM.

Summary: Yamaha 8x24 Internal SCSI Drive
Review: I really love this drive. It's fun, and it's easy. Installation was a snap. I was literally burning CDs (in Windows 2000, no less) in under five minutes from when I got home. It's now happily living on a channel managed by a RAID controller, which my DVD-RAM drive can't do. As with all SCSI devices, this one consumes almost none of the CPU's time. The benefit to this is that you can do other things while burning CDs. For example, I successfully burned a CD while playing and encoding MP3s, downloading files off the Internet, and installing a game from my DVD drive (all at once!).

The only dim spot was that, about two days and twenty CDs after buying the drive, it broke - it wouldn't initialize. This happened when the power was on, too. I was able to exchange the drive for a new one which has lasted several weeks without flaw.

Summary: Best CDRW yet
Review: Just bought the Yamaha 8x4x24 CDRW and the product is the best thing I have bought in months. I have had many problem with other CDRWs but this one has given me nothing but joy. I have had ZERO problems with this product, easy installation, FAST DRIVE, 99.99% Problem free. This product is THE CDRW to buy, it out performs the Sony Sepra and HP CDRWS. Yamaha is the name to trust when buying CDRWs, trust me you will love this product.

Summary: A real goodie !
Review: Writing and rewriting performance is excellent. Installation was trouble free on a Tekram Ultra SCSI controller - Win 95/98, Win NT, Win 2k with no problems. Price is right and no lost disks yet. Works well with WinOnCD 3.7 (was included in the box), Nero 5 and EasyCD 4 .... Only slight nag is that CD text is not supported but a firmware release could solve this (hopefully). Highly recommended.
