Summary: Fantastic Burner !
Review: A great find - I am very pleased with this burner. The installation instructions are a bit vague for a beginner, but do as I did, and seek help from a knowledgeable friend ! If I can do it, anyone can. Nero software is great - we were able to burn CDs from MP3 files in record time. You can't go wrong with this CD-RW.

Summary: Fast Burner - But broke in 6 months - Read Below
Review: HERE IS MY ORIGINAL REVIEW:
When my friend first got his burner a year or so ago it was slow and kept stalling his new computer (he couldn't run other applications while burning), so I was anxious about how this one would perform and can only say that it has not caused a single problem. I can do anything with the computer and this burner will run in the background and has, so far, produced perfect CDs in hardly no time at all (at 8X speed). If you want a burner you don't have to worry about while you are doing something else, then this may be the one for you.
A YEAR LATER:
The burner is dead (about 6 months after purchase, and not really used much during that time), which doesn't in itself say much about Cendyne since this could happen to any manufactured product. But Cendyne makes is very stenous to get it replaced, and many report that they never received their replacement. Plus you pay for shipping and (in advance) return shipping and some other replacement fee, so that buying a new one wouldn't cost you that much more. So don't be fooled by their warrenty.

Summary: Greay buy, great burner
Review: I bought this recorder as a replacement for the Acer 8432. I had a HORRIBLE experience with the Acer drive (made more coasters than I have cups for) and I wanted to buy an inexpensive replacement for it.

This Cendyne drive is great! Very reliable and and no buffer under-runs so far. The speed is only an added bonus.

Nero is a great program. I was using Easy CD Creator 4 before, but I don't think I will go back. Not for the novice, but it isn't rocket science.

BTW this is actually a Ricoh drive (very respectable company). Great deal.

Summary: Easy to setup, use but beware Hard drive Speed
Review: I bought this unit three weeks ago. The install instructions were pretty clear, and the software drivers loaded right up. The Nero software is better than Adaptec for music because you can drag and drop songs, and re-compile them more easily than CD Creator. Beware, though your CD write speed may only be 1x or 2x if your hard drive cannot keep up with the music burn youll get "CD Buffer Underrun" errors. Cendyne recommends a separate disk partition for music. Overall very good for the money.

Summary: Are you kidding?
Review: I don't know why everyone is giving this product such a high rating. I guess they all work for Cendyne or something. This burner didn't work in my computer. I tried really hard to make it work by messing with the jumpers and IDE cables but it didn't work. i spent hours trying to make it work before i realized that this is just a cheaply made product. my friend suggested to me that i should have spent $50 more in order to get a decent burner. i realize now that if you spend at least $150, you'll get a burner that's easy to use and you won't have to go through the trouble of returning an inferior product. In short, i learned that you get what you paid for.

Summary: Awesome
Review: I had a burner that had worked fine then one day it just crapped out....This burner cause absolutely zero problems for me. It has only failed ONCE in the middle of burning a large video file onto it. I put that same CDR back in the drive and the burner (or maybe it was the software) was able to FINISH THE BURN!!! On the CDR that it had gotten the error on!! I thought that was incredible. I have and will recommend this to ANYONE looking for a great burner at a great price.

Summary: You can't beat this deal!
Review: I ordered this drive on Sunday, received it on Tuesday, burnt my first CD on Tuesday night. Only took me 30 minutes to install, software is easy, drive is speedy and great. I have absolutely no complaints about this drive!

Summary: Accompanying software subpar
Review: I received the cd writer and all accompanying items in a short amount of time, installed it as directed, but when the software went searching for the hardware, it didn't recognize it! I had to go online and download (for about 1 1/2 hours) the new software. For someone who has to pay for internet time, this would be horrible. Plus I was a little mad that they would sell the product without proper support anyway.
