Rating: Summary: Never worked for Pentium 200 Mhz with 128 MB RAM Review: Even thoug HP says minumum requirements are Pentium 200 MHz with 64 MB RAM and Windows 95, it has never worked for me ever and ended up with returning. I tested with even 1X speed, however, it also caused error after a while in writing. HP's burning software doesn't tell much about the reason of write errors. It only says that CD may be dirty or scratched and destroyed ten new CDs of mine in that way. Reading was working fine, but writing was never successful. Troubleshooting support was not helpful at all.
Rating: Summary: I'm confused, but satisfied. Review: I am an average consumer, not a PC expert by any means. I purchased an HP 9510i 12x4x32, installed it easily, and was able to burn a 20 song CD-R in about 12 minutes with the included software on my el-cheapo HP Pavilion PC. The unit failed though and I had to send it back for a full refund. The closest model they had in stock at the time however, was the 9150i 8x4x32. I figured I would lose a great deal of speed in burning CDs, but would save $50 on the purchase price, and decided to "settle" for this model. (While I waited for it to arrive, I happened to download a trial version of "NERO" off the internet.) I received the new unit, installed it in about five minutes and to my amazement, am now able to burn a 20 song CD-R in about 10 minutes! I highly recommend the 9150i. It was a breeze to install, and is idiot-proof when it comes to burning CDs. I guess I recommend scouting out some different software other than what it comes with, however.

Rating: Summary: Buyer Beware Review: I bought this CDR for my HP Pavilion 4540 and found to my dismay that it wouldn't fit. I don't know if it will fit into other Pavilion models, but somewhere they should tell you which HP computers this unit will fit into and which it will not. Only option it seems with this HP computer is an external drive, cuz there's now way a full size CD is going in, unless you want to replace existing CD drive. And working in the small space of a Pavilion interior is next to impossible.
Rating: Summary: hewlett packard cd writer Review: I have reviewed many cd writers over the last several months at different stores. I found that the Hewlett Packard has the most features available. As a response to price I feel that it has a pretty fair price
Rating: Summary: Buyer Beware Review: I have this Burner at work and use it daily. Excellent product, easy installation, and easy to use. I find the speed is more then efficient for back-up, software back-up and of course MUSIC. My employer paid 199.00 plus shipping for his and now I'm going to purchase my at Amazon (cheaper of course).

Rating: Summary: Ridiculous Customer Service Review: I purchased this drive in large part because of a rebate HP was offering at the time. (Don't worry the drive costs less now without a rebate.)HP expired the rebate just one month after the last eligible purchase date. I called them and the just said 'that's just the way it goes.' I know other companies use rebates as a gimmick to get a quick buck, but until now I have expected more from HP.
