Review: I've been looking for a nice cd-rw that I can use on my laptop and on my desktop. This model really fit the bill nicely. It comes in a nice sleek case with all the necessary cables and card for the laptop... but you need to buy the external cable if you want to connect it to your desktop via your scsi card. The performance on this burner is very nice...at 4X it burned ~650MB worth of data in about 20 minutes which is a lot faster than my 2X burner.

Review: My Order for Ricoh CD-R/RW Portable Kit arrived from Amazon.com yesterday. This was my first purchase order from Amazon.com and I was impressed that it arrived in two days as was promised. I was looking for a CD-R/RW for use as a backup device for my Portable computer for some time and I picked Ricoh over a HP product because it is $100 cheaper than the HP. When I opened the package, I found that the product is nicely designed, slim and in siver color; and came with an power adapter, SCSI cable for PCMCIa socket, application software, manual and instruction sheet. Installation was simple and I was able to unload almost 1 GBytes of files from my portable computer to a backup CD within an hour! The DirectCD software which comes in the package is really handy allowing one to copy/paste files using the Explorer. The only item I miss in the product package is a SCSI calbe for connecting to a PC. I am going to buy one later. I liked Ricoh CD-R/RW very much and I think I made the right choice in terms of the quality and price.

Summary: Great Burner, network conflicts under NT
Review: Overall this is a great cd burner. My only problem with it would be if you wish to be on the network with the burner using NT server you may have some problems. I would not let this deter you from buying this burner especially if you will only be doing backups or other activities that don't require 100% access to the burner.

Review: these cdrw's are the best you never get an error and have to start over with these cdrw's. with other cdrw's getting erors is a common misshap but with these that never happens , ever. these are the best

Review: This drive is great. The installation went flawlessly. It is very easy to tote around and it is incredably fast. Good software also. It is a breeze to use and even a novice can use this drive. If you are looking for a lightweight, easy to use, reliable drive this is the drive for you.

Review: This gave good performance, primarily because of the the SCSI factor. You need more RAM (possibly 128MB), to prevent Buffer Overflow. I highly recommend this product for Road Warriors, who need to make backup, or play MP3s.
