Rating: Summary: Great drive plus a free manufacturer upgrade Review: I too had to wait a couple of weeks because of the back order. When I finally received it I was amazed to find out that I was upgraded to an 8x8x32. It was easy to install and I love the Nero software so far. It took me a couple of minutes of "playing" with it to figure it out, but it works great. Do not hesitate one bit!
Rating: Summary: Best buy for the money Review: I took forever deciding on which burner to buy my 13 year old son. I chose this one because of the compatibility with my computer and of course the price ....It was easy to install and my computer had no problem recognizing it. Software was easy to load as well. In no time we were burning CD's. Our use is mainly for audio and used TDK CD's with no problem. I would suggest it definitely!! Sound quality is good too! I am a novice when it comes to computers and if I can install it, so can you!!
Rating: Summary: It has everything you need at a price that is hard to beat. Review: Nice little burner. It was by far the easiest CDROM I've ever installed. I did it in like 5 minutes. The software works great and is easy to use especially the wizard which many others don't utilize. Other people mentioned it wasn't adaptec, but so what. It burns CDs fast and that's all you need. Its more stable and the software is better than the stuff I have here at work which is adaptec.
Rating: Summary: My First CD Writer and It's GREAT! Review: First of all, I ordered a 4x4x32 model, and instead received an 8x8x32 model. So I liked that from the start. It installed very easily - I simply removed my existing CD drive and plugged the Cendyne in, and it worked: no 911 calls were needed. Nero software was easy to figure out and within a half hour I had burned my first CD. Now I am busy clearing off my glutted harddrive.
Rating: Summary: Great Deal Review: When my Burner arrived,I was informed that I was upgraded to an 8x8x32!! I installed it on he secondary IDE as a master, and made my cd write drive a slave. Windows 98 recognized it and I was off and burning with the NERO software, which is so easy to use, my 7 year old can literally use it to make her own cd's. I am very pleased with the drive so far...
Rating: Summary: So far so good Review: It's worked very well for me, even though I'm not burning at the highest speed. I burn at 4x and cds only take 15-20 minutes. And it's all ridiculously simple.
Rating: Summary: Nice Burner...! Review: I have rarely opened up a PC before. So when I bought this item, I was skeptical that I may have to hire a computer guru to put this in for me. Amazingly, it took about a half an hour to install!! I believe for most of you, it should be be easy for you as well. A CD writer is a MUST HAVE for anyone wanting to store HUGE amounts of memory. It will be good to use for making audio CDs. Additionally, it will be useful for storing family photos. The NERO software was difficult to figure out, but eventually found that it is easy to use as well. This is a fun accessory to own!...THANKS GUYS!!
Rating: Summary: Unbeatable bargain Review: This is a wonderful drive. It's actually manufactured by Ricoh, which is slightly more name-brand than CenDyne. It isn't compatible with Adaptec's Easy CD Creator, but that doesn't matter much because the included Nero Burning ROM works like a charm. It handles every type of media properly (but has trouble spinning up some of my discs once in a while). Overall, this is a great drive (especially at this price).
Rating: Summary: Even MORE bang for the buck! Review: My CenDyne 6x4x32 came with a little note that I was one of the few customers automatically upgraded to an 8x8x32! What a deal! The unit was not a Ricoh, but a Teac instead. It installed flawlessly on WinNT and the NERO burner worked fine. After struggling with an older HP 2X2X4 external drive that frequently destroyed disks....what a treat!
Rating: Summary: I love it Review: This was very easy to install, the only problem being the whole "master/slave" settings. The manual says to set the Cendyne to master and the other cd-rom to slave. I had to reverse those settings to get it to work right. This is my first cd-rw and I'm very pleased with it. The Nero software that comes with it is very easy to use. There was something weird about it: it quit at 80% while I was burning because of buffer overrun, however, all of the information that I wanted to be there was burned onto the cd. Overall very easy to use and install.
