Summary: This is the one!
Review: After buying and returning 2 cd-read/writers -HP, Philips-
this TDK VeloCD worked without a hitch. No software problems,
no compatiblility problems. Nero(for burning cd's)works very well. It's not as windows-friendly as Adaptec but its still
easy to use. Easy instructions for installing in your tower.
You do have to make sure any MP3's your burning are free of
any errors. So download 'good quality' copies. I've had this
burner for about 2years now. Have fun!

Summary: BEWARE MAC USERS!!
Review: Although this drive is absolutely incredible considering its speed and functionality for the Windows OS. It's software is not designed for the Macintosh OS. After careful research, i was unable to find this out for myself...After getting the 3rd party software installed, the everything else went off without a hitch.

As of this writing this is the fastest commerically availble cd-rw drive on the market. It run's faster and smoother then the its contemporary plextor or yamaha drives at 24X write and is in my opinion more sturdy and attractive looking.

This is an excellent drive for the money let's just hope TDK can eventually cross-platform their software.

Summary: Excellent Burner!
Review: I bought this drive as an upgrade from my ancient JVC SCSI 2x burner. I am extremely impressed. The drive handled generic, no-name, media at full 32x speed. I burned a full disc in about 3 minutes. Audio extraction was flawless.

The package was also first rate. The drive comes with 2 blank CD-Rs and one CD-RW. Software includes: Ahead's Nero Burning Rom, InCD, TDK's media player (seems to be Winamp based) and a nice movie explaining how to use everything (for novices.)

A quick install poster is included in addition to the excellent and detailed manual.

This is an excellent drive, and you would be making a big mistake if you bought another over this one.

Summary: Great Drive for a great price!
Review: I just bought this drive and couldnt be happier with it. The burner was easy to set up and use. No software issuesthat sometimes pop up when upgrading hardware. I used the TDK 32x cds and verbatim 24x. Both set to their correct max speed. Both worked on multisession writing and audio cds. No glitches. If you buy this drive over the 40X version you get a ...mail in rebate so the drive end up costing you only [money]! This drive is tons better than my old creative 8432 which liked nothing but expensive Verbatim discs and gave errors on anything else. This thing burns anything!
She's a little louder than my old one but still quieter than my cdrom drive!
The sum it up, like the title says, Great Drive for a great price!

Summary: Rarely makes coasters
Review: I use this drive with Macintosh OS 9.2.2 and Roxio Toast. For Macintosh drive compatibility issues go to the big database at xlr8yourmac.com.

This drive works great for me. Reliably burns at 32x with every blank I've tried.

Summary: Cool Drive
Review: One of the best CD-RW drives. with the speed of 32x it will let you burn for less then 4 min. and the audio rip of 40x makes the audio without the pops and clicks.

If you need a drive buy the best one from TDK.

Summary: The Best
Review: This burner is unbeleivable! I am able to burn a full 80 min disc in less than 4 minutes! I've even burned cd's that say they are a 16X speed, and have burned them at 32X speed without a problem. This thing never skips a beat and burns all different kinds of media.

It was a very easy install and the Nero burning software that comes with it works great on my XP Professional OS.
