Summary: Above Average CD-RW Drive
Review: An above average drive. I work in my home/office with several other college students that do web design and almost all of our computers (9) have a CD-RW Drive. In all we have 6 different varieties of drives and I would have to rate this one the 2nd best out of the six. The Sony 6x8x32 is by far the best but almost $100 dollars more expensive than the HP. The speed may be slightly slower but it is about 99% succesful in copying. A snap to install and have had not run-ins with the HP tech support. A definate thumbs up and a highly suggested product.

Review: great confidence can be assured when purchasing this cd-rw. hp really takes the thought out of installing and using all of their devices. this one is no exception. i had this drive installed and running on my 400 mhz celeron in no time. the instructions were top-notch, but the configuration possibilities made it necessary for me to contact hp for help. hope you NEVER have to contact hp customer services. you have to pay for the long-distance call yourself, and it is 100% automated, with confusing possibilities. was even directed to call another number, which when called didn't even work. i eventually fixed the problem myself, and have had no problems since. if you can read directions and have never even pulled the case off of your computer, you CAN install this drive. i am very pleased with the product. hope i never have to call customer services again, though.

Review: I found this product a very good value. It performs as advertised and does an excellent job of creating CDs. It does just as good a job as more expensive units I've used and the software included is nice. I do recommend visiting HP's web site and downloading the latest upgrade if you are using NT. This is a good buy.

Summary: Great drive thats given me no problems
Review: Installed the drive myself with no problems, and I'm far from a computer expert. I've burned about 50 CDRs so far, and haven't had a single problem. The software that comes with the drive is serviceable for basic copying and CD making, but not very configureable for more complex backup operations. Overall, I'm very pleased and this is the drive I recommend to all my friends who keep giving me disks to backup for them!

Summary: Don't buy this stuff
Review: Its very frustrating.. doesn't worth your money.. I've tried to burn my cd.. it keeps giving me error message although I have reload the software again.. Nevertheless, you can use it to upload or play games using any cd but you just can't write or record cds..

Review: This fantastic piece of equipment should be banned from everywere,because i could open a shop repairing this cd writer,lots of people here in finlan have had problems with it,i took mine out of the box and installed it,it didnt work and im not the first one it has happened to.then i got another one and it works sometimes.kaka.

Review: This thing are so cheaper... yes I know that is good, but the problem is: You must to fix it every month. It doesn't work fine.

Summary: Absolute garbage
Review: Was lucky to burn the few CDs I did. Drive is lucky to recognize any media at all. Stay far away from HP stuff. At one time they stood for quality. Not any more.
