LG Electronics SUPER-MULTI FORMAT DVD ( GSA-4120BI )

Review: After months of researching and comparing dvd-r drives, I finally settled on the LG Electronics GSA-4182B, an 8x dvd+/-rw drive. I received this drive instead due to a shipping problem with the original order.

I love this drive! The LG GSA-4120B is a 12x dvd+r/rw, 8x dvd-r/rw, 5x dvd-ram, and 2.4x dvd+r dual layer. It also records cd-r at 40x and cd-rw at 24x. I have been unable to find the media to record at 12x dvd+r but at 8x it rocks! The drive was easy to install and the included software works great. It comes with Nero 6, Cyberlink Power DVD and Power Producer Gold, and many additional plug-ins.

My old 4x drive was a dud and I waited a long time to choose a replacement. This drive has not disappointed me yet! Amazon does not sell many LG Electronics drives but you can still get one from Amazon sellers, for a very reasonable price. My experience with sellers has been 100% so far and I would highly recommend any of the sellers I've done business with. Check out the ratings on all the large PC sites and you'll find that the LG drives are well rated and well liked by consumers and pc professionals.

My best piece of advice when buying computer components is to do your research. I built my computer from the ground up and besides the dead dvd-r drive, every component I purchased was highly rated and worth the money. This drive is no different.
