Rating: Summary: Revision 2 (U30213-RV2) is also a Lite-On SOHW-812s! Review: (...)
Absolutely wonderful drive, Pacific Digital/LiteOn has never let me down... I had this drive for about a month and burned all my old home movies to DVD without any coasters! This works really well with Roxio and Nero 6. I have burned Mirror -R 4x with no probs what so ever. Also burned Ritek Printable G04 4x -r media too and have burnt all discs with no issues.
Did have a sony DWU-10a and this was a CRAP! Sent it back twice as it wouldn't burn anything.. Gave up in the end and waited for this... very pleased.
one of the best burners on market!

Rating: Summary: Fantastic Review: I has a similar experience as the first rater. I bought a Hi-Val/IO Magic 8x dual format DVD drive that never worked properly including a warranty replacement. After hours of trying to get it to work time spent with tech support etc. I dropped in a Pacific Digital drive and within 10 minutes I was viewing a buned disk on my TV dvd player. It recognises every disk I put in and am very happy with the unit! The moral of the story is immediately test your electronic gear upon receipt! At least you can return something and get a full refund. I let the old drive sit and now IO Magic is not responding to my second Warranty request.
Rating: Summary: Know what you buy. This is LiteOn SOHW-812S Review: I have to say that I was a little dissapointed when I first opened the box and took a look at the enclosed drive.
I had a LiteOn SOHW-812S on my computer and it was failing to burn my DVDs properly, so I looked on the net until I found this "Pacific Digital" drive. The reviews looked good, and so did the price and dual burning. Finally I bought it and when it arrived, I opened the box and there is was... ANOTHER LiteOn SOHW-812S! I couldn't beleive it. It turns out (so it seems) that Pacific Digital is a branch from LiteOn, so they sell the same products under different names.
Luckily, this new LiteOn works like a charm and burns all my DVDs, so I have no Complaints. I only gave it 4 stars because of the name trick.
In short, it works great
If you like LiteOn, buy LiteOn or buy this. Its the same.
If you DON'T like LiteOn, stay away from this.
