Summary: Good dvd discs for the price
Review: I purchased these discs and have not had a single failure yet. I'm burning at 4x with the the DVD-R using my awesome Plextor 504 burner. The discs dont have a ridge in the middle like some other discs, so labeling them is very easy.

Summary: Power Calibration Error
Review: NEC ND 1100-A Use to work but no longer does. Nero 6.5. Nero reports a Power Calibration Error after about 45 seconds and then fails a 4X speeds.

Summary: No problems, nice branded surface
Review: I burnt over 20 of these on the Sony External dvdr+/- 4x drive with no coasters so far, works great. It also has a nice branded surface and doesn't feel cheap. Great value at amazon, can't find a better deal anywhere else, you won't be disappointed. It is a purple dye.

Summary: Flawless.
Review: Not one coaster so far with these babies burning in a SONY DRU-510A with Nero 6. Can't recommend these discs, the drive,or the software enough!

Summary: Works As Advertised
Review: I recently bought a Pioneer DVR-106/A06 4X DVD+/-R Burner and this Memorex media works flawlessly with it.

Plays perfectly in my console DVD player, Windows desktop and an Apple iBook.

It burns good and plays good...isn't that all you can ask for in a media?

Summary: OK with Pioneer '06
Review: This Memorex 4x media works perfectly with my Pioneer DVR-106 DVD±RW drive. Top surface has very light branding, light enough to disappear under a label if you want to risk it (I recommend Meritline glossy labels -- they stay put). Data side is a medium purple, not as dark as some Ritek discs I've used, but not light enough to mistake for a real DVD.

Summary: Great media
Review: I have yet to burn a coaster with these media. I use a Plextor 708A at 8x and the Memorex +R works great. If you have problems with this media it's probably your drive, not the media, causing them.

Summary: My NEC1300A died trying to burn one of these
Review: It could be coincidence. My NEC 1300A had burned seven Ritek dvd-r discs, and five Ritek dvd-rw discs, but in the middle of the first burn on one of these, the burn failed, the message appeared that "Drive not ready" and the drive never worked again. In case you have color preferences, these discs are red.

The package comes with a large disclaimer that it can break a Pioneer burner without a firmware update. I had firmware 1.7 on the NEC.

It really could be coincidence, but be forewarned.

UPDATE: I got a replacement NEC 1300A, flashed it to firmware 1.9 upon arrival, and have since burned these Memorex's successfully. Still, I'd just assume buy more reliable Ritek's for less money.

Summary: No problems so far
Review: These work great at 4X with my Iomega® Dual DVD±RW 4x / CD-RW 16x Internal Drive. This drive is a rebadged NEC1300A.

Summary: So far so good
Review: Using these disks with Optorite DD0203. When you receive the spindle, it says that you have to upgrade your DVD writer firmware to the latest one available by your manufacturer otherwise you might have problems. I've upgraded to firmware 2.16 (have to download from http://www.optorite.com/firmware.htm). I used the dos version upgrade, but you can use windows version too.
I wanted to order DVD+R disks instead of DVD-R but somehow messed up the ordering so I ended up with DVD-R. I've read that DVD+R have better compatibility with standalone DVD players so I was pretty worried that these won't play in your DVD player. I was suprised to find out that they play even in ancient standalone players. No problems with compatibility. So far I've burned around 10 DVDs without any problems at 4x. I used multiple programs but prefer Nero 6.0.
