Summary: One of the best deals on DVD-Rs period
Review: I bought these based on the price and the fact that they were brand name DVD-Rs. I've had serious problems with Memorex CD-Rs in the past before, but after doing some research, these DVD-Rs came highly recommended, and at such a price they seemed like a great buy. I was not one bit disappointed. Burnt all 25 discs at a constant 4x with not one coaster. Played on all DVD players I've tried so far. They also have lines, which some people may prefer for labelling purposes and the design on the disc is quite nice. These are pretty close in price to generic brands, and they work perfectly. If looking for a great deal on quality DVD-Rs, look no further, you've found them.

Summary: Great Disks
Review: Have burned over 50 of these disks at 4x and never had a single problem. They play on every DVD player I've tried, as well as the PlayStation 2.

Summary: DMR-E80H Panasonic
Review: I purchase a 25 pack of Memorex DVD-R from Amazon when I bought the Panasonic Recorder. Out of the 25 disks I could ony burn 8 of the disks. I will not buy anymore Memorix DVD disks.

Summary: Burned about 3 disks and the rest are underruns
Review: Well, I usually do not have a problem with Memorex in recordable media...However, I purchased this spindle of 25 thinking 26 bucks for 25 blank dvd discs was an awsome deal, but it turned out to be a disaster. I burned maybe 3 discs fine, then all of a sudden every single data dvd I try to burn now using my Sony exterior DVD R/RW burner gives me an Underrun. Now I have wasted about 8 discs. I'd say you get what you pay for...My 10 PACK of Fujifilm DVD-Rs cost me the same price as this 25 pack, and you wonder why...I think fujifilm is a better disc and has less chances for an underrun. Built better I suppose. I'll stick to the small packs of expensive discs from now on...never had a problem with those!

Summary: Did not work with Pioneer DVR-103
Review: I usually have pretty good luck with Memorex CD-R's so when I got a used G3 Macintosh with a Pioneer DVR-103 CD/DVD Burner I decided to go with Memorex DVD-R's.

The DVD-R's come with a warning saying that you need to upgrade the firmware for Pioneer DVD Burners. They provide a URL to do so. So I upgraded the firmware and confirmed under the System Profiler that the upgrade had taken place. Unfortunately, I cannot get these DVD-R to work. The drive recognizes them and begins the lead-in but then fails within 45 seconds with an obscure media error. I was using Toast 6 at both 1X and 2X speeds.

So, thinking that maybe the Mac was being wacky, I swapped the DVR-103 into my PC and fired up Nero 6.5. Nero reports a Power Calibration Error after about 45 seconds and then fails a 2X speeds. At 1X speeds it makes a coaster (the Power Calibration Error doesn't appear to ruin the disk). From what I found on the Internet a Power Calibration Error means the laser is having problem reading the media and adjusting the level it needs to burn the DVD. Usually this is media related and not hardware related.

Anyhow, I did pick up some TDK 2X DVR-R that work at 1X speed (at 2X I get the same Power Calibration Error, sigh!). I hope this will save someone the hassle and expense of buying the DVD-R's that won't work with their Pioneer drive. Maybe it's just my drive, but I figure I would pass it on.

Summary: 50% Failure Rate with Panasonic DVD Recorder
Review: I recently purchased a Panasonic DVD Video Recorder (model DMR-E80H). I purchased these disks at the same time. I have used about 20 of the disks and thus far have had a 50% failure rate.

Summary: No problem for my Panasonic DMR-E80H
Review: I have burned over 50 Memorex DVD-R DVD's with only one failure. I am very happy with this brand and will always use Memorex until I experience a failure rate that is not acceptable.

Summary: Works well with my Panasonic DMR-E80H
Review: I ordered a 25-disc spindle of these with my Panasonic DMR-E80 and so far, having burned about 20 discs, I've had zero problems. Every disc works in all DVD players I've tried, including PC, Playstation 2 and XBox. Based on this positive experience, I'm ordering some more. I don't know if I just got lucky with a good batch the first time, but they worked so well that I'm willing to continue using these DVD-Rs. And at this price it's an almost unbeatable bargain for a brand-name product.

Summary: Usually a great disc
Review: I have burned 400 of these so far and had great luck except for one pack of 25 that didn't want to be seen on my sony dwu10a. They did burn on my liteon ldw411s after updating the firmware. Unfortuneately some of them still couldn't be seen on my apex 1100 or my sony dvd player. One bad batch though has not turned me away from memorex as they have been very good so far. If not for that they would be a 5 star product as I have had only 2 bad burns and they may not have been the disks fault but were probably caused by a bad file and a power interuption. If anyone is using a usb external setup and getting a bad burn right after the lead in they may want to consider hooking up their burner internally as this was a problem I had and it cost me a lot of disks to find out that it was a reset of the usb and not the disks or burner. Since moving it to internal I have not had but 2 coasters and they were as said probably not the disks either. Hopefully this will help someone. One bad Batch, but, Memorex still rules lol.

Summary: DO NOT BUY
Review: I initially bought a 10 pack of the memorex 4x dvd-r's and had no problems, so I opted to invest in the 25 pack. The price on amazon brought the costs down to about $1/per, a pretty good deal or so I thought. I have a Panasonic DVD recorder (set top w/HDD) I use to make DVD's with. I got the spindle and started dubbing programs from my HDD to DVD. The first one burned fine, the second died, the third burned fine, the fourth died. It seemed like every other one was a coaster. I tested my theory by skipping over the next coaster and choosing the next "good" one. This proved 100% accurate, I was able to use a grand total of 12 out of 25 disks! This was very discouraging bc everytime one dies, the recorder goes into a recover mode to preserve your dubbing info and it takes 3-4 minutes to get back up. This was a big waste of time and energy. I just bought a 25 pack of Fuji dvd-r's and every one so far has worked beautifully, it makes dubbing fun again when you have good media. I would not buy another memorex product based on my experience, go with Fuji.
