Summary: Detailed info on latest discs from Amazon
Review: (Please read entire review)
Some reviews posted here are from people who did not purchase this item from Amazon. The product lot number is totally different than the current stock of Amazon. The product lot that Amazon was/(is?) selling had/(has?) a large number of defective discs. People who bought their discs retail, and gave a review of good quality, isn't a good indicator of the discs you will get. Based upon the people who purchased their discs from Amazon and gave reviews, it seemed/(seems?) likely you will get a defective spindle. This may not be the case anymore.

(PLEASE READ ON)

I purchased a spindle in May 2004, and it contained about 70% defective DVDs. I returned it to Amazon in July as a defective product. They took the product back, even though it was past 30 days, and they paid for return shipping. (You won't get that great customer service at a retail store).

Amazon told me there would be a slight delay on my replacement discs because they were changing their supplier. I received my replacement discs about 10 days later. After inspecting the discs, I found no visible physical defects. I've burned about 10 discs and have had no failures. It would appear that the new supplier has corrected the defective product problems.

In conclusion, I would recommend this product from Amazon.

Summary: No Errors, odd shadow
Review: bought here on Oct 22, RICOHJPNW11, 25 good 4x burns
(2 had to be full-erased to get them to burn)
5 of 5 good reburns, all first try no errors on LG4120B
all full verify ok, no slowdowns shown on Nero DVDSpeed.
Slight irregular shadow all around clear hub area on all disks.
These are ~hubless disks.

Summary: These discs ROCK!
Review: Currently using a Sony DRU-700A DVD burner, and after attempting to use other brand names, memorex, etc. I became very frustrated and soon realized NOT all blank DVD discs are made the same. Then a few months ago, I gave Ridata a shot to see what happened and I was pleasantly surprised to learn these discs are consistantly 'error free' I've come to the conclusion that using Ridata by Ritek is the ONLY WAY TO GO!

Summary: Overall Great Media
Review: I bought two packs of these and used up one 25 pk so far. Works well with my Sony DRU510A burner and Apex DVD player except for one disc which had a visible defect (area with different color than rest of recording surface).
Great value for 4x DVD+RW media!

Summary: not very good
Review: I got the first package and there were visible defects around the edges of all 25 discs. The discs would burn fine but then freeze and skip near the end when played. I returned it for a 2nd spindle and experience the same thing.

Summary: Ridata 4x DVD+RW is RICOHJPNW11
Review: I got this Ridata 4x DVD+RW(RICOHJPNW11) from Amazon that works great with my Sony Dru 510A drive using nero v6.600. I done 70 of these without any problem. It takes about 15 minutes at 4x speed. Only complain is that Amazon should package these item with care and air bag it fully so it would not bounce around during shipping.

Summary: power calibration errors
Review: I have been using Fuji DVD+/- 4x and was attracted to the price of Ridata discs. These discs don't work on my Sony DRX-510UL. All I got was power calibration errors message. I had to return them. I am sticking with Fuji.

Summary: Just burned my 70th!
Review: I just burned my 70th Ridata DVD+RW disk last night. More than half of them on my Akai DVD burner I also bought from Amazon. Not 1 bad disk yet. They play on most modern DVD players. Great price for a RW, & if you get tired of what's on them, you can record right over them.

I'm ordering another 25-pack today.

Summary: Amazing burn quality
Review: I used these disks on my dell laptop and they burn better than +R or -R disks. The PI errors never got over 10 when I scanned the disk with NERO. (Anything under 800 or so is considered readable)

Summary: Excellent quality discs
Review: I've been using Ritek (Ridata) +RW discs in my Philips DVDR80 dvd recorder for over 6 months. I've recorded approximately 200 of these discs with no "coasters." For those of you who don't know, many name-brand companies "repackage" Ritek discs under their own brand names at a higher cost to the consumer. Ridata is just Ritek's retail "brand" name.
