Summary: Very satisfied
Review: A few reviews of other blank DVDs on Amazon have touched on a troubling issue: scratched discs. Some people claim to be getting scratched discs from Amazon. Well, I received these discs by themselves, in a too-large box which they were rattling around in. I was ready to have to return them, but the discs themselves are absolutely flawless. No imperfections of any kind on the bottom, and I analyzed each of them carefully.
I've also burned four of these discs at 8x with no problems whatsoever. I'm very pleased with them, and at this price they're a steal.

Summary: BEWARE: Pioneer 8X drive writes these at only 4X
Review: According to Ritek's site, they are working on getting a full 8X out of Pioneer's DVR-107D and DVR-A07XLA, but they are not there yet. I'm disappointed because I didn't consult their site before buying them and expecting to write at 8X with my Pioneer drive.

One would easily assume that a DVD writer, with a big fat 8X on the box (running the latest firmware and software), and media with that same fat 8X on the wrapper would be able to write at 8X, but guess what? Not true!

Summary: Ritek Ridata 8X +R only burns at 4X
Review: Bought a 25-DVD spindle of Ritek Ridata 8X +R DVDs [these have the words "Ridata" and "8X" on the top side of the DVD]. However, these only burn at 4X on both of my burners. Prodisc and Supermedia 8X DVDs and Ritek 8X -R all burn at 8X. Even Memorex 4X burns at 6X on my burner. Don't waste your time or money on the Ritek Ridata 8X +R DVDs if you want DVDs to burn at 8X.

Summary: Not One Coaster In The Entire Stack.....
Review: I am on my second pack of these discs and highly recommend them. I have been using Nero Recode or CloneDVD to back-up my children's dvd movies; and I have not burned one "coaster" thru my first 25-pack of these dvd+r's. They play flawlessly on all three of our household dvd players as well as our 2 computers. For the price they are a great value.

Summary: Excellent Quality and Value
Review: I have now successfully burned over 10 DVDs on these discs, and all have played perfectly in both my Samsung stand-alone DVD player and the DVD Burner on my computer. The burner I use is a Sony DRU540a. I have used Disc Identifier on these discs and in case you people want to know, it is manufactured by Ritek and the media code is RitekR03. You can look that up on digitalfaq.com, then click on a link that says www.nomorecoasters.com (that is not the actual url, so you have to go to digitalfaq.com first) and it will show you where that media ranks according to some "expert". To him, it is 2nd class media with an 80 to 95% success rate, but to me and it sounds like the other people here, it is first class media with 100% success rate at an exceptional value. I have burned ZERO coasters and I don't foresee myself burning any soon. There is one problem, however. Like I said, I am using a Sony DRU540a for my burning and these discs will only burn at 4x with this burner. Disc identifier says they are compatabile up to 8x, so I think this is just a problem with the firmware with my burner. Once a firmware update is released I am sure they will all burn at 8x. (I know my burner works at 8x because the first blank DVD+R's I bought were Verbatim and they worked at 8x). That being said, it's not that big of a deal. 4x takes about 14 minutes, 8x takes about 7 minutes. Overall, the quality and value is excellent and I would recommend these discs to anyone and everyone. Tip...since the 50 pack doesn't ship for a couple weeks, but 2 25 packs and get free shipping. That is what I did, I selected the free shipping, and I got both packs in one shipment 4 business days later. You should be happy with these discs.
