Summary: Disappointed
Review: A great product, but disappointed Office Depot do not ship outside of US. The licensed bandits here in Saudi Arabia charge 40 Riyals ($...) a piece for DVD-R and I was getting set to buy a bundle from you guys. Looks like I will have to shop elsewhere.

Summary: Absolutely No Problem Using This DVD-RAM
Review: I have owned the Panasonic DMR-E20S DVD Recorder/Player
since November of 2001.

I bought 20 Panasonic Disks (at about twice the price) and 30
of the Memorex. Apart from having to format the Memorex before
using it (about 1 minute each side on the machine), there seems
to be no difference in the quality.

However, since I only have the one machine,
I have no way of knowing how readable the disks would be on Computer DVD-RAMs and other Recorder/Players.

Also, Memorex makes an affordable DVD-R (#3202-5510) which can be recorded on the Panasonic Machine (only once).
They work on any DVD player that can play a DVD-R (such as my Sony Portable).

Summary: Memorex DVD+RW works with Sony DRU-500a
Review: I have used this media without any problems even though it is not officially supported by Sony. I did upgrade the firmware of the drive to 1.0f though. The media when burn with Sonic MyDVD plays on Daewoo, Apex, and Go-Video DVD players as well as my Liteon DVD-ROM drive. I don't know what a previous reviewer's problems were, but I have burned five with no problems whatsoever and will buy more in the future. The Sony disk included with the drive works but generally costs double the price of memorex.

Summary: THIS DISC IS FANTASTIC!
Review: I own a rather large and rare film collection which includes rare vhs and laserdisc titles. With the Panasonic DVD Recorder and the Single and Double Sided Versions of the Memorex DVD-RAM discs I was able to transfer all of my vhs and laserdiscs titles to DVD-RAM where their contents will now remain safe. I had nothing but the easiest of times with both the Single and Double Sided Versions of the Memorex Discs, had no trouble whatsoever, and I cannot recommend them or the Panasonic DVD Recorder highly enough! Recordable DVD/DVD-RAM is the most important development in archiving since the book!

Summary: Good product but WARNING
Review: Just a small warning if you are planing to buy this product.
From some [...].
This product is intended for the Pioneer 103 DVR that burn to DVD-R/RW burner only. Not the HP one.

Note the +RW for HP and -R/RW for Pioneer.

Apart from this it's a good product.

Summary: These are good but their dvd+rw/+r are even better!
Review: Memorex data media have always been good. Have never had any errors writing with their cd or dvd media. Preferred always. But since I have switched to DVD+R/+RW it would be appropriate for Amazon.com to start getting the media. Seems to be on sale everywhere and I can't get here! Hmmmm.

Well, Memorex has been creating media for ages and it shows. The big 5 always and deserved.....

Summary: Buy with caution!
Review: Some of the other reviews refer to DVD/R, DVD/RW or DVD+RW, which are all different, incompatible formats from DVD-RAM. I can only speak to my Memorex DVD-RAM experience. I own over 40 DVD-RAM cartridges, mostly from Maxell, TDK & Panasonic. Only 2 have ever failed: this Memorex & a freebie from Optodisk. I thought I would try this Memorex because if it's [low] price. It failed within the first week of use, taking all 9.4 Gigs of data with it, and the defect was such that it could not even be reformatted. Getting a replacement under the warranty was so much trouble that it wasn't worth it. I've heard tell that that these Memorex DVD-RAMs don't play nicely with Macs. Buyer beware!

Summary: DON'T BUY THESE FOR A PANASONIC HS2
Review: The other review by "Briansbro" was right on. I only wish I had read it before buying Memorex blanks. The new component DVD burner, the Panasonic HS2, cannot cope with these DVD-Rs for some reason. Out of a 5 pack, I got 1 successful burn. Everytime I put in the other 4, the player would literally shut down and power back up in "recover" mode. Weird.

As an addition to Briansbro's comments on compatibility, I had also bought two 5-packs of Imation blank DVD-Rs because they only had one Memorex left (lucky!). I have had no problems with Imation, not one. I only wish I had read his review BEFORE I had wasted time with Memorex. I started to think that it was the Panasonic I got (a lemon?). Nope, it was the Memorex's. I hope I can stop someone else (and enlighten them) before they buy these blank DVD-Rs to use with their cool Panasonic component DVD burners. I have the HS2 with the 40 gig hard drive in it FYI.
