Summary: Unreliable with Cyberhome recorder
Review: I've recorded about 120 DVD's on my Cyberhome recorder. In the past, I've used Ritek, Imation and TDK blank disks with no problems. I've now used about 30 of this stack of 100 Memorex DVD's. Two could not be formatted by the Cyberhome recorder and had to be trashed. Two others recorded, seemed okay, but then could not be finalized, which means I can play them on the Cyberhome but never play them on a PC and who knows what else. That's more than a 10% failure rate. Overall, with the price for these being so reasonable, I'm using the Memorex to record things that if I have finalization problems, I won't be too upset, and using other brands for more important recordings - - but I certainly won't buy them again.

Summary: Discs Skip on PS2
Review: I've used the silver non-printable 4x memorex dvd+r's before with no problems on either of my players. However these printable disks have skipped every time. It's not my dvd player or burner. So I know they aren't very compatible with a PS2. I just wonder why I had no problem with the non-printable Memorex as they even have the same media code when I use DVD Identifier. Is anyone else having problems on a standalone player?

Summary: Do Not Buy - Bad Discs!!
Review: I, just like a few of the reviewers below, have always had great success with these DVD+Rs. UNTIL they came out with the printable all the way to the hole kind. I then went from 100% success to 100% failure. Unfortunately I was so confident in Memorex, that I stopped testing my discs after each burn long before I received these and ended up losing about 15 discs of data. I have since bought Memorex 8x discs (25pk) and had good success so far, but will never go back to Memorex 4x.

Review: If it is not the best dvd+rs in the market at least they are the cheapest and for that price you can afford to do the setting of the software or dummy recording in your Philips DVDR75 DVD without any fear of losing a bundle on expensive dvd+rs.
One last thing,I keep buying more of these dvd+rs and I don't know why?is it because they are cheap or its the first time I buy something at a huge discount and really works!

Summary: It Depends on Your Burner & Who Made the Memorex
Review: Memorex media, like most major brands, are produced by a half dozen or so major media manufacturers of varying quality. Unfortunately, you never know what you are going to end up with until you open the package. If you review it, please post the DVD manufacturer ID to help shoppers make an informed decision. Your burner software usually has a tool to identify the manufacturer of the media. Here are the manufacturers people have run into:Ricoh - Arguably the best manufacturer because virtually all burners will produce quality burns that will last years, not a few months. You win if you get Ricoh media! CMC - Mixed performance at best. Plextor owners will want to look elsewhere, but NEC owners generally report better results. Quality control problems have been reported. I generally prefer to avoid CMC media until I see a better track record coming from them. They also produce most of the "free after rebate" no-name media. I just don't trust the longevity. Prodisc - A very bad performer. If you get these discs, don't expect your media will still be intact several months later. They produce a lot of coasters in a lot of burners. Stay away. More and more spindled Memorex media is coming from CMC these days, so the earlier reviews may not be a guide to future media performance with these. Too bad retailers and/or manufacturers will not identify the producer of the media on the package so burner owners can make an informed choice and not have to return incompatible media.

Review: My 8X DVD burner burns these at 6X no problem! The top surface has a nice tough/rough finish which is very nice for longevity! I've burned over 30 disks so far, with no problems yet.

Review: OH MY GOD! I purchased these 100 pack spindle twice and I would always get 5-6 defective dvds from each spindle! But hey you can check out the Memorex website and get replacements.. It is very frustrating though to enocounter such problems like this!

Summary: Excellent Quality, good price
Review: The 25 spindle is also an excellent deal. I burned about thirty of these with, knock-knock-knock-narry a problem. Since my primary use is backing up mine and my daugther's DVD collection (at four she's just hell on them; and I've given to much money to Hi (Barney and the Wiggles) and Disney and Gullance (Thomas the Tank Engine!). So I have to make back ups for her use or the original, pressed disk will be toast in no time. So, I burn full disks most of the time and I've yet to have any problems with them. Would highly reccomend the -Rs and CD-Rs as well. Although I believe ....sorry about that, DVDShrink was demanding a disk. It now uses NERO to burn CDs as well. I can usually have a complete copy in my hand in 45min and that's with my 4X Pioneer 106D. Now, with an unexpected tax refund, it's time to upgrade to a serious burner. But whatever brand that happens to be, I know I'll still being using Memorex media.

Summary: Exhibits signs of "DVD Rot"
Review: There is a quality control probelm with these disks. I purchased two spindles of thse disks earlier this year to back up my movies. About 1 in 10 are now are having problems playing back. Sometimes causing the player to skip, distort, freeze or not play at all. When examining the recorded side of these discs, under strong white light, I saw specs and splotches in the recorded areas. Some of the damaged areas were so large that they looked like fingerprints, but they're not. The discs are do NOT have stick-on labels, which have been suspect to this probelm. My other experience is that many low-cost generic brands do NOT have this problem!

Summary: Best out there!
Review: These blanks will not fail to satisfy. they burn and play perfectly in just about every home and cpu dvd drive out there. The memorex brand saves you a bit of cash, and yes they can be scratched easily sometimes, but a small price to pay to back up your home collection as well as make your own movies, wedding videos, etc. Highly recommended. If adverse to brand, i would also recommend the TDF's.
