Summary: Very good quality / success rate.
Review: I have yet to fail on one of these discs - very good DVD-R media! Stay away from the "prinatble" version though - they are junk and I had 100% fail on a dozen of them.

Summary: No problems at all
Review: I just finished my 100th burn on these discs; not a single coaster! Some people have reported trouble with the discs, most likely due to their hardware.

They are a little slow, but not too bad (about 15 minutes/dvd for my system).

I'm using Nero 6 and an HP dvd 530i. So far, the discs have played in every home DVD unit that we've tried, as long as they can read CD-R/MP3's.

Summary: The best price and quality on DVD-R
Review: I recomend you buying this DVD-R they work great in my Toshiba sd-r5002. I all ready burn 50 of them without any problem. I bought 50 Ritek 4x DVD-R and those did not work. Some times it is better to stay with brand like memorex than looking for cheap stuff.

Summary: CMC disks are crap
Review: I would avoid these discs. I have been using these discs for some time doing backups. Recently, I've had a few problems and decided to look at these further. I noticed another review that said that the discs are made by multiple companies under the Memorex brand as are others like TDK, etc.. I used to DVD info and noticed that my most recent purchase is made by CMC and I'm having problems with some of the discs including burn errors. One disk has strange ring in the die. I have the NEC 1300a burner. I also having some trouble playing backups on the same drive on my computer. Less trouble playing on my Sony DVD player. Just based on this (not a clear indication of what you're getting when you purchase), I would go with something else. These discs are not cheap enough for this reason.

Summary: Ruined a good thing
Review: I've always had good luck with Memorex DVD-R's until this new batch came out (with the Attention Pioneer, etc. label on top). Most of what I have tried to burn on my Sony DRU-500A end up ruined as well as attempts to burn on my Toshiba Satellite notebook burner. Tried TDK's and they work fine, so I know it's a compatibility problem with the Memorex discs. What a shame. One step forward six steps back!

Summary: For price and reliability, this is where to start
Review: I've bought 2 Memorex DVD-R spindles in the last few months, as well as a couple of assorted boxes, and I've only had one coaster the whole time (which was entirely due to how I had my DVD recorder configured). I use a Sharp DV-HR300U standalone unit, and these discs have been great. Even though my recorder isn't rated as a 4x burner, it'll still burn these discs at 4x speed. And with the way Amazon keeps dropping the price, you can't go wrong with these.

Summary: Inconsistent Quality Is Disappointing
Review: I've purchased many 25 pack and 50 pack spindles of this product just because it was the least bad brand of media I knew of. The fact was that in some spindles I could get almost no coasters, while in some I would end up with only half the discs being usable. I don't really like spending money on crap quality products and I believe most others feel the same way. If you are one of these people, I HIGHLY recommend the Ri-Data 4x media (both -R and +R) or the TDK +R's (I haven't tried TDK -R's) instead of this. I have gone through about 100 of the Ri-Data discs so far and about 25 of the TDK's and have yet to burn even one single coaster on my Sony DRU-500A. Trust me, you'll like the other brands much better.

Summary: Worst Media ever Made!!!!
Review: If you're planning on buying Memorex DVD-R Media, think again, i bought the 50 Pack Spindle from wich 5 discs didn't work, the compatibility with standalone DVD-Players is awfull, at the movie's first 10 minutes the image starts to freeze, i have a Pioneer DVR-104 Recorder, and the media is so bad, that after the movie has finished burning, i can't get my Drive to read it, this media is the worst there is, go with Imation or TDK

Summary: Awesome!
Review: Love these DVDs! Recording has never been easier! I've used around 30 of them, and not one coaster yet. That's a much better result than my CD recording which always results in a coaster here and there...

Summary: Test different media with your burner!!
Review: Memorex DVD-R media works better in my home theatre DVD player than anything else, which is, I know, the opposite experience of another review here. I tried other brands with my burner, an NEC 1300A dual format unit, and certain other brands weren't even recognizable in it. Memorex seems to burn the cleanest and best for me with this burner.

I'd recommend you try buying some singles or three packs of different media if you're new to DVD burning, and if you plan on playing back any of your new DVDs on your home theatre system, make sure your burner format is compatible! My home theatre DVD player only supports the -R format, so a +R only burner for me would have been a mistake. Do your research!
