Rating: Summary: DON'T BUY THEM Review: I have tried to burn like 5 video dvd with my dvd writer (LG super multi dvd writer 404B) with the latest firmware A302 and all the burns have been coasters. They burn with no problem. The problem is when I insert the dvd en the dvd rom. It can not even recognice the Media.
Rating: Summary: Media gets a bad wrap... check your hardware first Review: These are great disk; I have used them on an OEM DVD+RW RW5125A. No problems (at least not any due to the media itself)I actually tried Maxell, TDK, and Fuji disk before grabbing one of these. I could not get any media to work consistently. After days of trying this and that, I finally found the problem, and it had nothing to do with the media. Technology is constantly changing. Earlier versions of DVD writers, cannot recognize the new 4X and now 8X disk. A firmware upgrade for your burner may be needed. After I updated my firmware, I have had zero shiny coasters and have successfully completed disk using all brands mentioned above. So I know some drives do not get along with certain media, but do not assume that it is the reason for your trouble. Check the net, and find your solution. The nice part about all of this is, that it was the information on the sleeve that came with the Memorex disk that clued me in on what was wrong. That alone will make Memorex my media of choice. Customer care.
Rating: Summary: Works fine on my Magnavox DVD recorder Review: I received a Magnavox DVD Recorder for Christmas (Model 650R), so I picked up these discs and gave them a shot. So far, they have worked just fine. I have already ordered my second spindle - for $1.20 a disc the price is great. I understand that most folks are using a DVD burner that is part of their computer, so take that into account I guess.
Rating: Summary: Very good DVDrs Review: Very good quality and burn flawlessly at 8x on the Nu Tech drive. Paid 30 for 25 dvdrs, very good price on Amazon.com!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: Black bottom spindles are CMC made you'll need a firmware upgrade if using a nec nd-1100a burner. I flashed my nec 1100a to an HP 300 and it works with CMC discs @ 4x. Grey bottom spindles are Ricoh, and burn easily @ 4x. NEC is not providing firmware updates for the 1100a drive at all.
Rating: Summary: BAD Experience Review: I tried burning 4 DVDs. During the wirting process I got no errors and while playing (DVD player & computer) I see the scrambled picture and no audio. I'm going to return these. My DVD writer: HI-VAL/IO Magic Dual format (+-R/RW) Internal drive. Software Used: Nero Burning Room
Rating: Summary: Works great but with one problem for me Review: I have burned about 10 movies so far out of the spindle and haven't had any problems. But if you have a nec nd-1100a burner you can not burn at 4x only 2.4x. Nec is not going to make a firmware to fix this problem.
Rating: Summary: No problem burning on my Nec ND-1100 Review: I'm on my third pack of 25 Memorex 4x DVD+R bought over the last two months with 0 coasters. I can burn a full disk using DVD X Copy in 30 minutes. I researched cheaper brands ($.90 a disk) but the difference in price wasn't worth the risk.
Rating: Summary: memorex media was good in the past, but not now Review: memorex changed the manufacturer of their media from RITEK/RICOH to cheap CMC. I've burned dozens of DVD disks successfully in the past with my burner, with Memorex(Ritek), TDK, Fuji, and verbatum media, but my last 25 pack of Memorex, 23 out of 25 burned UNREADABLE disks.
Rating: Summary: burns at 8x Review: Although I just started using this media, it burns at 8x (actually 6x for first 750MB and 8x thereafter) on my Plextor 708A drive without any errors. The manufacturer id for this media is CMC MAG F01 which is listed on the Plextor media compatibility chart which means they have specific write parameters in their firmware for this media.. a good thing. Culled from the plextor compatibility table found on their website. CMC 2.4x/4x 4.7G 4x CMC MAG F01 0 CMC Magnetics, the OEM of this media is a major media manufacturer in Taiwan.
